If this is penalty, definitely you will receive a message on search console. I think have sent too many spam links within the short period of time. So it had shown a good results at the beginning and now everything had gone.
Also, it depends on what kind of links you have built. Check whether the links are still alive or not. Keep disavowing the spam links.
When you send the links you need to diversify the anchors and URLs as much a you can.
I also don't suggest this kind of tool generated links to use directly on the sites. You need to use these as a tired links.
Add more new articles and build quality links like guest posts and PBNs.
You are right, any premium tools can be used only on tier links. best is a good pbn with traffic and niche edits for now.

I assume you purchased some backlink package with the amount of links you have?
Just doing a "disavow" if it's a penalty won't work. You just come across as a churn and burn trying to recover a failed site.
You need to be trying to submit evidence along with your disavow so when someone reads it they can see you are trying to repair an issue with the backlink profile.
To me it looks like you was only getting a few clicks anyway nothing major, the rest of the pages where no doubt not ranking, it looks to me like you have just fallen further down the site index if your on page 150+ I doubt you will get much traffic anyway let alone the impression count.
You mention I think, the content is 600-800 words in what niche? How competitive are the keywords or long tails you are targeting? I figure its a combination of things if you got hit by a penalty you should know by the end of the month takes 2-3 months for them to send you an actual notification. Unless it's a manual one which in most cases is triggered with a notification within a few days.. (from my experience anyway)
These keywords are medium competition, only few general competitors.
For a start i was on 80-100th place on 200 good keywords, then slowly moved to 60-70 and as next you know.
Console didn't notified me the last 3 months, so i don't know what actually happened.
You won't see disavow results in a few days. Takes months for their index to rebuild the PR or whatever it is they use now.
This leads to false correlations. You disavow, rankings come back a week from now, you think disavowing fixed it when it was something else. This is part of Google's SEO disinformation techniques.
I'll be happy if i'll see results even on a next year as i spend a lot time on this project.

Are you using Yoast for SEO?
I heard they messed up with a version that tanked people's sites. (Maybe check to see if it could be that, check to see if anything got noindexed on your site)
I never used Yoast. I have ON page seo optimised very well.
