I do know that right now they are very much effective. But the fact is that google have been thinking of removing the weight for EMDs for quite some years now. But with this patent now, they can implement changes in their algo. SO maybe we can expect something like that in the next algo change

what most people are missing, is the advantage that if you get linked or link the domain name you also have your main keyword in the linktext even if you dont use any linktext
I did not know this... so you are saying if I owned http://makitatools.com then link juice is given for the term "makita tools" even if it is just the link that shows?

Well thats something new. Yes, thinking about it, there is the correct anchor text that you want even if you dont put any anchor text. Does anyone know more about this ?

EMD works. Though an EMD gives you an SEO advantage it does not mean you can outrank everything just because of EMD!
