Something is definitely wrong with Scrapebox

I have tested over 10k fresh proxies from various sources and Scrapebox's proxy tester shows that almost all proxies are blocked or have timed out. Totally I got 20 working proxies and even them are going dead over time. What is wrong?? A while ago I got told to purchase proxies but I doubt I would get working proxies as Scrapebox is failing everything.

That sounds about like my experience with public proxies :D Proxy Bonanza has served me well in the past for scraping, of course private proxies work too but are more expensive per proxy.

Thats the reason you got told to buy proxies, cause the ones you buy will be private and will keep on working, unless you burn through them ofcourse.

There is a huge difference between public and private proxies. It has nothing to do with there being a problem with scrapebox. Public proxies usually have a shelf life of hours or even less. Get yourself some private proxies.

I'm aware of private proxies but those are primarily used for posting, I want to scrape and do PR checks in huge loads, private proxies are not ideal for this kind of purpose.

Also I used to get hundreds of working public proxies in the past from the very same sources.
 
Scrapebox is working fine, but the proxy issue is not new.

There's been an increasingly high fail rate of public proxies recently, irrespective of Scrapebox. It was noted over a month ago:

Also, try using the New Proxy Harvester:
Scrapebox > Options > Use new proxy havester.

I use HMA VPN for scraping and PR checks, I do have to change IP every 5 minutes though :( and it's against their policy but well...
HMA does have an option to change IP every 2-3minutes or how you set it. But that might get you banned though. I only did this a few days and I'm a member of HMA for couple months.
 
I honestly don't know if some of the other proxy scrapers have the option, but I have Proxy Multiply set to test my existing list of proxies once per hour, and scrape/test new ones so that I always have a list of working proxies. Some of them fail, but I've had less problems with Scrapebox since I started doing this.

Because of the short lifespan of public proxies, it really seems that something like this is going to be the only way to really stay on top of things.

How do you use this tool to find these proxy sources on a continual basis?
 
Problems still? Really? A few weeks ago I was having baaad problems with scrapebox, like getting 600 G passed with 10 that IP passed out of a list of 100,000...ridiculous.

Today I put a list of 20k proxies into the tester and came out with 1000. Needless to say, I was very happy.

Frankly, I really am not understanding the confusion with public proxies. I've been helping a lot of people find public proxies lately (usually by directing them to the proxies section of BHW :) ), and because of the sheer increase in people who seemed lost, I decided to scrape proxies using only scrapebox's internal sources to test things out...And you know what? I got 100 that G passed and IP passed.

I got 100 out of 6000 with the internal list that everyone is using and abusing to all hell; I still got a legitimate amount to work with.

Whatever you do, please don't use public proxies to post/comment, only use them to scrape (and vice versa...do not scrape with private proxies) or create accounts (if you're brave). I personally would use private IPs to register anywhere.
 
It has an automation mode built into it. It emails a list, writes a file to disk, or uploads the file via FTP. I specify what sort of proxies I want, and then it does what I ask once an hour. Very easy to set up. I highly recommend Proxy Multiply at this time, but as I said, I haven't tried Proxy Goblin or any of the others.

There is a Proxy Multiply thread on here and it's for sale for like $29. I think my money was well spent.

I buy 16 private proxies every month from a guy on fiverr.I use them for harvesting and posting and I have not had any issues at all.
I read looplines great scrapebox guide and you make your connections a quarter of the total proxies you have on harvester to help avoid a temp ban.

I'd never use public proxies,they are unreliable,can fail to protect your true IP.

Bugger that,for $20 a month I get reliable proxies which have no issues at all.
Look at the time spent collecting public proxies and pissing about,for the sake of $20 a month you get rid of all the hassle.
 
I experienced the same thing, try to pick another public proxies but not from SB offered list. Or go with shared/private ones
 
Why would you burn out your private proxies through google? Doesn't make sense.

Harvest a big list of public proxies, scrub em, filter em, then google.
 
I'm not the most perfect one when it comes to posting questions, but seriously how many times has scrapebox issue of proxies been address?

Here are 3 simple things you need to know about SB Proxies

1. If you use private proxies or share proxies for a large scrape they are finished generally after 150+ scrapes and get banned.
2. If they are public proxies they are public. The term public should be self explanatory... so here's the probability process- If private proxies get banned after 150+ scrapes in a small duration of time, then how long does it take for a PUBLIC proxy to get banned?
3. A conclusion of statement 2 is, public proxies don't last long- if you want a magic fix then buy 1000 private proxies and stop complaining.

That's a fault with your proxies and captcha solving provider or app - not with the posting/scraping applications

That's like saying. "OMG - Filled the gas tank on my car with treacle - now it won't go - my car is FAIL"

IM is getting harder by the day. Good proxies and a good reliable captcha service are the sundries you need for just about everything these days - and it's only going to get tougher. If you can't handle that - check out the small ads in your local paper for a shelf stacking job and quit IM - you ain't up to it.

No, you are fail. Because it was a SB proxy issue and the last few updates seem to have fixed it.
And now I'm able to get 100-300 working public proxies, versus 20 barely working, soon to be failed proxies.
 
There's some really good proxy lists here on BHW. Check out the proxies section bro.
 
I think it is really unfair to all software creators when people make threads like this. It's completely misleading and gives the software a bad rep when it's the user that is the problem.

Instead of making threads like this, spending a few minutes searching here on BHW would have helped you solve your problem or at least point you in the right direction.

Also, public proxies are becoming more and more useless because too many people have hammered them to death.

Sure there are some places to get a good amount of free proxies for scraping etc, but it's becoming more rare to find sites that have a good amount of working free proxies.

If you want to take the free route, you need to take the time and build your own custom list of places where you find working proxies or else you will keep getting poor results.

With that said, paid proxies is the way to go if you want to get real results.
 
Alright, the issue is back after the last update 1.15.41. All proxies are showing Error Timeout upon launch of the tester.
