Something I never understood about email marketing???????

    The one thing I never understood about email marketing is, for instance, if you have a make money online email list, I don't understand how you're able to sell to them again and again when, if they buy your first product you sell to them, why would they buy from you again? they would just end up thinking all you are selling is stuff that doesn't work, same with the lose weight niche, if the first thing you sell to them doesn't help them lose weight, why would they buy from you again?

    Maybe you should sell products that work, or have mailing lists with millions of people on it.

    have a better relationship with your list if you want sell over and over, and also it is very important - sell quality products.

    Also, even if the products you are promoting are good quality, why would they want to buy from you again if they no longer need to buy anything because that first product was enough. For instance, if I was looking for a product on how to make money online, and I bought it and it worked for me, what reason would I have to buy another product from that person?

    Not everyone on the list necessarily made a purchase. Some may have just opted in so they could subscribe to your valuable newsletter, or to download the valuable free gift you offered them to do so. So there is still money on the table.

    Generally, once you have made a sale, it's much easier to get that person to purchase from you again. You have established a relationship and broken down a barrier. You don't have to sell them the same products again, just related products. They lost weight with your wonderful diet plan. Great. But let them know the statistics of how many people but the weight back on. They wouldn't want to lose all the progress they made. They want to stay slim - and you have just the diet program that will make sure they stay on the right path.

    The make money niche is evergreen. If they made some money with your program, don't you think they will want to make more?

    Email marketing can make wonders but only under a wise battle plan. Spam them and you will gain more than an unsubscription, you will gain a very frustrated audience. Those people will talk about you in the most negative way, you must be sure about that. Treat them with respect, send them newsletters only when you have something very special to announce and not more than 1 email per week. If you manage to build a trusting relationship with your newsletter subscribers, then those people will open your emails, click on your links and finally buy your products or services.

    You just need to make a "new and improved" version of your product every now and then. People love "new and improved" stuff.

    It's seems the vast majority of Internet users are totally stupid and don't know what they are doing. I have read, heard and seen endless examples on how people suck these e-mails and swipe the credit card in seconds. I don't understand it, but that's why this works and why you can find the million e-mail lists around.

    Sometimes you don't need to understand what you are doing, it just works :nemoflow:

    To make more money and because the product worked the first time, you are certain it will work again -> repeat sales!
    Don't try to over-think it too much, read a few books regarding the psychology of selling and apply those techniques. Not everyone is as smart as you think on the world, people will buy anything providing you can convince them.
    And remember: there is a sucker born every minute! :D

    before thinking to sell , you should build a good relationship with your list, then think about providing free good quality content !
    Never promote things you didn't try yourself and i'only sell 2 times per month with 3 niche related niches ;)

    ^ This, similar to several other comments here, OP.

    You are looking at emails as a one time transaction. That would be a failing strategy, but might be a "successful" one time tactic (though not sure you'd break even for the effort or cost you incurred for getting that list).

    Put yourself on the receiving end and imagine what your reaction is / would be...

    If you are interested in a long term sales channel, your "audience" are expecting you to email them regularly with your particular insight, or some useful information you have found, or a different angle on solving a known issue = what others here call "providing value".

    I've read elsewhere on BHW that the ratio should be no less than 10 such emails (say once or twice a week) to one email promoting something. Perhaps some of the more experienced IMers here can comment on that.

    "The first product should be enough if the product is good." if this the logic that you are applying then maybe selling Internet marketing products isn't for you. If you think there is an end all be all product out there for Internet marketing, then you're not thinking like an Internet marketer. "Yeah, this enough money. I can stop working at this now." said nobody successful ever.
