Something fishy about Flippa

So I'm browsing through sites that are selling and I'm just baffled at how much some of them are selling for.

This one here makes a supposed $19/month and sold for 3k

Can I really just make an ad and just write "I can't seem to monetize this thing" and guarantee myself a couple of thousand dollars?

Just curious if anyone has some inside scoop because I'm trying to figure out how to get the most money from my site on Flippa. Thanks.

What's really funny is as far as I can tell, that site isn't ranking for shit anymore... certainly not the keywords he mentions in the sales copy. Well this was a year ago.... I doubt the buyer is happy with their decision though.

The seller is suspended so obviously he did something wrong. When the sites like that sell for a high amount it is usually a BS bid.

On the other hand, you can have a site that makes nothing but someone may be really interested in just owning it because he/she likes the concept and knows he/she can do well with it.

The seller was claiming $10/day in the description. Either way there was a ton of red flags on this sales page.

But there is something very confusing about this sale. Look at the bids.

Bidder 1 bid $3,000 and $3,001 while bidder 2 bid $1,500

Anyway, it seems that there's less newbie buyers on Flippa these days.

Yeah, that site is going nuts now. Last week i saw a site go for 7 figures and that dude didnt even have 10 visitors coming to his site.

flippa always seems fishy to me. every post is just weird. the only ones that look legit are the ones making like $50 a month where the guy wants 300 bucks or so.
