Something Amazing Happened Today

I started an IG account in the Food niche yesterday and started uploading HQ pictures on them manually.
To my surprise, one of the pictures have received more than 200 likes in 12 hours and rising. This, despite the fact that my follower count is only 5.
I think the picture has gone mini viral. How else can you explain it?

Someone with a good amount of followers might have liked it, which would have shown it on their followers explore page. or it might have gotten on the popular part for the hashtags if you used any, which makes it the top post for people to see when they look at that hashtag.

Good use of hashtags most likely. Did you like the pics from any major accounts? That does it sometimes. If one major account likes a pic, then their followers see that and follow suit.

No I did not ask anyone to like it. But yes I did use hastags. Got the most relevant ones from a scrapping site. I hope my other pictures too bring in good likes.

I got it now. Someone with 55k followers had like the pic and maybe that's why so many visibility to the picture.

It's possible. If he doesn't like tons of photos and his followers are legitimate, your pic is likely to get some attention to his followers as well.
