Someone trying to scam me?

That's a very common scam I have had it happen to me also and I have heard others on here who have had the same thing but like you I could see straight through it and told them to piss off.
What I thought was with this particular scam from Googling as well as from the messages I got it seems they insist you talk to them via Telegram all the time, because an end to end encrypted service is harder for the police to trace if they ever went after the scam.

Did they contact you via your website contact form or via your whois registered email address?

I got a similar approach for one of my domains last week via contact form (which was a little odd) and ignored it

Do Wire Transfer or Bitcoin if your scared of a scam.
They want me to spend $250 buying a certificate in Japanese. I'm not doing that and they won't pay me the $35,000 without it. lol They contacted me because of Whois. I didn't buy privacy from GoDaddy.

Telegram is like whatsapp but works better, and doesn't share the information to anyone, is a normal app of chat.
The thing is...they only want to talk to you on Telegram and not continue to chat via email and I think the reason is because police can't easily get copies of conversations in Telegram like they can with ordinary texts, emails etc....if anyone comes for them about the scams? This is my guess about why they immediately wanted to talk to me only on Telegram?

Same thing here. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/is-this-a-scam.1056607/#post-11378269 Appreciate any updates here as well.

They contacted me through whois they say.

Guess I have to sign up for Telegram now.
Don't buy their certificate. Googling I saw one guy saying how with something similar he paid the $250 and never heard from them again. It wasn't people using the same names but I'm sure it's the same scam.

I have precisely the same offer. Here's the first step in their gambit:

I act on the behalf of our VIP client (domain investor) and will help you to sell your domain. The buyer purchases several domains to generate traffic to his new web project.

Our commission is only 6 %. The commission is divided between you and the buyer and paid after you get the money.
The buyer offers 635 Litecoins (about $35000). Litecoin - crypto currency. If it's ok let's proceed. You will be paid in Bitcoins/Litecoin/Ethereum or in USD (Paypal, wire transfer or Western Union). His escrow accepts Litecoin and may convert it to USD if necessary.
The payment to you will be made via escrow service to protect both parties during the transaction. He can only send via escrow. His bank prohibits him to send money direct to avoid scam. It's not safe. The bank requires a certification in Japanese to avoid selling illegal goods to Japan.
