I was checking my rankings the other day and came across a tumblr blog that's an exact copy of all my content. I got his affiliate ids and reported it to tumblr.

The big problem is that I've list rankings and am getting half the traffic I was since about 5 days ago. I think it might be rged to this duplication of all my hand written content.

Any ideas on what else I can do? Tumblr hasn't responded to me yet.

Thanks!

You could always find the information of the person running the site and tell him that you found him out and reported him, and that you are considering taking legal action on him. A lot of times the jerks doing stuff like this are just punks that don't know what they are doing on the web and are just trying to squeak out a few cents here and there. If you tell them that what they are doing isn't working and that you found them out, a lot of them might just back down and take down the site. Even if you don't have a lawyer just tell them that you might take legal action and it will definitely scare them, because even they know its probably not true, but on the slightest chance that it is they most likely will just move on to the next sorry scheme or whatever.

If worst come to worst call them and tell them

Haha this would probably work for sure :p

Anyways hope this helps

How old is your site? Its good that you already reported but just being a tumblr blog and yours being an old enough site I believe, I don't think if you have been building quality backlinks for your site, that blog would have been able to compete you.
Are they actually ranking for your keywords? Well, you might also find re-checking the source of traffic you have been receiving 5 days ago, maybe it wasn't exactly from search engine? Answering some of these questions might help you in being prepared if something similar pops up again in the future.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

I'll look into filing a DMCA complaint.
Travisle, I like your approach. I'm kinda a non-confrontational type of guy, but I think it would be best to just be straight forward about this and go to the source. AKA the thief.

Twitter.followers, maybe you're right. There must be some reason for the traffic drop other than this amateurs shit site. My almost all google, but the site is over a year old so it shouldn't be that unstable.

Thanks!

imitation is the highest form of flattery hahah. but seriously that sucks. as long as your content is all yours and you yourslef didnt "borrow" any I would say you can go the dmca route.....

Yeah definitely didn't borrow this stuff. Dmca here I come

Sorry For What Happened To Your Site.
This Is Really Irritating.............

File DMCA Complaint And Save Your Site Man.............

File the DMCA complaint with his hosting company. They'll likely fold immediately and shut him down.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

I really don't like confrontations either, but if it was getting in the way of my profit or traffic, I would definitely do everything I could to stop it. Sometime you just gotta try something that makes you uncomfortable, and who knows maybe you will end up better off. One thing is for sure, you don't have anything to lose doing this and everything to gain!

Good luck and I hope you get this resolved as fast as possible!

Contact the affiliate company and they will ask him to remove the content and if he does not they would suspend his account which will make him act fast!
