Someone looking to hack into my BHW account

I have just received this email..

Dear gabixxx,

Someone has tried to log into your account on Black Hat Forum Black Hat SEO with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 187.41.99.231

Hopefully this person was smart enough to use a proxy and not tie their real IP to their real account.

I guess we'll never know (but the admins will)....

It was definitely a proxy or infected computer used to try to log in to the account, but I don't think it was someone specifically trying to hack your account. I believe what happened is they were trying to use your login name with a preset password or password list to use a forum spamming tool to log in and post spam. If you have a secure password, I doubt they will ever get in. They are most likely trying sex/love/admin/password/god etc with many accounts they scraped. But, either way, I do hope the admins are notified automatically when things like this happen so they can see a list of the IPs making the requests, and if they see multiple accounts having it happen, they can blacklist the IPs.

I'm not actually worried. I believe my pass is pretty strong, just sending a notice that it wasn't me and banning the IP could be useful, as they might try it automatically with other accounts and this would help avoid all the extra load..

The same thing just happened to me, they used this IP: 180.246.184.177

So the bot is using open proxies. I wonder how many forum members are getting hit.
