    Hi there,

Many of you probably know some websites that embedded SEO audit tool. There are couple of paid solutions in the market but I'd rather to build my own tool. It is also a great way to get leads for a web agency.

However I am not a web developer, I know how to build website with template but I don't know how to code. Do you have some tips/tutorials or do you know someone who can build such plugin for me ?

    Thanks in advance !

It has taken my whole career to get to a point where I am good enough at software development and good enough at marketing to merge the two in custom software. You have to master two occupations to do this well. My advice, if you really want to get into SEO tools development, is learn to code first. Understanding how all the technology fundamentally works will make you a better and more efficient marketer because there will be a lot less "magic" and fewer unknowns in your decision making and you will be able to execute on a lot more plans without needing to hire help every time.

I prefer Java for software and web development. PHP works too. I recommend video tutorials as a great place for beginners. Safari Books Online or Lynda.com etc...

Is there any course on coursera or edX about SEO? I tried one on corusera, but I think it wasn't very efficient.

Not sure... I learned SEO the hard way... by taking measurements and plotting charts. I like the approach described in episode 1 of SEOFightClub http://seofightclub.org/
