Hi guys,

I've been having some issues lately, with a busienss, using almost similar name to my busienss name and also now I see there product descriptions are straight up copy and paste - any advise on this ? Will this low my ranking ? can they get penalized for using duplicate content ?

1. Take a SS
2. Find and try to contact the site owner (99% he ain't gonna reply)
3. Check https://www.whois.com/whois/
4. Look for "registrar email" if you can't find it
5. If he won't take it, go to web host directly (again use whois) and they will do the job *(if it's bigger issue)

i think you talking with him and try to put something is the best thing you could do but the probably he won't response because he knows his wrong

Wait, is this true? Like for SEO?
I used to think Google would ding competitors copying content but apparently it's not true. The line of thinking is that it's not Googles job to determine what is or isn't plagiarism but to offer ways of removing plagiarism.

I'm not sure about that but because his duplicating you, you have all right to do something about it
Yes, and if the business is registered, legal action can be taken if its literally copy pasted

That is true

So, Google doesn't care about duplicate articles and such?
