Somehow I'm #3 on Yahoo for an Acai site

Ok, so I built a site in the extremely competitive Acai niche about 2 months ago, a little mini review site. It IS a great domain that I couldn't believe was even available, with a beautiful design. However, I have only done literally like 2 minutes worth of promotion of this site with some sort of commenting software that I downloaded from here (I think) but I cant even remember what the software was called but I, and to be honest I forgot I even made this site cuz I abandoned the idea after deciding it was going to be too competitive to go after. Then I got a sale ($40 CPA offer) showing up in my CPA account, so I go look at the stats for the site and see the traffic is coming from Yahoo. So I search on yahoo and find my site at the #3 spot for the only keyword phrase I keyed in on! I mean, wtf??? I never even submitted the site to Yahoo. I go looking to see if there are backlinks and found 149 backlinks but they are only from 2 sites. the other 148 are all from the same site, but when I go to any of the pages on this site (some splog) I view the source and cannot even see the backlinks... I dunno what the hell is going on. I'm not even in the first 100 pages of google for that key phrase! The keyphrase is my exact domain name with the .com too.

Anyway, I'm a newb to seo, so maybe this is normal with yahoo, but I mean I thought you had to actually TRY to get onto yahoo's first page, especially for something like Acai! I'd actually be thrilled if I could make even 1 sale a month on sites like this.

Anyway, I guess I'm gonna run the site through a round of SENUKE, and then do some comment spamming to the 2.0's and see what happens on google. I'd probably be making some bank if I was #3 on the big G!

So, I guess the point of this thread is to give encouragement to newbs to just get off your butts and start building sites... Like my Grandpa would say it "Throw a bunch of shit against the wall and see what sticks!"

Kallen, you should take advantage of the situation
1. Add son Backlinks to your other sites
2. Add CB offers
3. Ad Adsense

Dude go grazy while the gravytrain is in your station..

I could hardly sleep last night trying to think about everything I did and trying to remember what that software was I used cuz I figured it must be something I should really start using! But then it hit me, I did do something with this domain that is somewhat unusual and the more I think about it the more I think I really may be on to something! I will try and do it again with another site and see what happens...

As for the adsense, I don't really want to do that. The site is a CPA site that really looks legit... Its as legit looking as the landing page of any of the actual acai companies websites and sort of appears as if it actually IS one, but thanks for the idea

Kallen, you have hot the Jackpot on Yahoo man . You will profit the most when you become #3 on Big G. You can even such a site for more than $8000 easily online. Now just concentrate on getting Backlinks for your site and i am sure you will Rank higher on Big G too
