Some Suggestions...

The mouse over (please see Image1 below) is a nice feature, but at present there is some readability problem as it is white text on black background and no border or a slight contrasting background color. I suggest to have a border around the present box like:

The same mouse-over functionality can be given to the date below the Post-maker's name on the right-side. Also, an arrow can be placed along with the date to denote that clicking on the date (or the arrow) will take the reader to that post. The mouse-over function for this part will save a lot of bandwidth and needless opening of the target thread/post in most cases.

Now, because there is no mouse-over function to this part, the reader will invariably open the link (clicks on the date), and may be that post is not to his interest... The mouse-over function to this part will save lot of time and he precious bandwidth, while it will allow the reader to peek at the related content. Please see the following Image2 to get the mouse-over idea:

So, imo, the linking in the top part (PART 1) needs to be redone and correct linked pages are needed to be attached to the link-text (either the target page/s should be linked if existing, or created and then linked).

Inside the Quick Navigation box, and the menus there in, if there is a "Favorite Links" menu-item (limited to about 10-15 user-defined links), then it would be a time-saver feature and a good Organizer for the user. The "Favorite Links" can be used by the users to add their favorite places like some thread or section, or they can delete one of the earlier saved favorite items. This will enable them to navigate to their favorite places in a shorter period of time, and they can well organize what they are more interested in (threads/posts/section/link/etc.) on new BHW site.

This new function can be added, if possible, to the mouse right-click event (or anything that's appropriate), from where they get a choice to add the right-clicked item to the new Favorite Links menu item in the Quick Navigation box.

For Example:



On clicking the Favorite Links menu-item, it will open the new box containing the user-defined favorite link/s. Clicking on any of them will take them to that linked page...

It will also save plenty of scrolling in the quick navigation box to find their target section or link which are by default somewhat limited to them (they could have a particular thread in mind in which they are more interested, but by default that thread cannot be put up in the default quick navigation box).

The easier natural option to this additional exercise is that the user bookmarks the BHW webpage of his choice in Firefox or his default browser... so that's already an option available instead of giving this new feature of Favorite Links menu-item. I was just trying to add a feature to the Quick Navigation box if that was feasible and convenient, and not time-consuming and unneeded burden to our site-programmers.
