Hello, How long does SEO take to work?
I have some backlinks but how long will I see the effect from them?
Also what else should I do besides backlinks?
And how often should I perform SEO like backinks, etc on my blog posts? Thanks for any help!
Thank you for the info! Could you explain more to me about social? Do you mean using social networks? How could I do that? Also by pay per click do you mean like google adwords? Thank you for the info you are always so helpful, I really do appreciate it!SEO is a long term strategy. Some aspects of it can be quick IF the circumstances are right. If you were starting a brand new website tomorrow I would say that you would see the return on SEO in about 10 months and you would get its full effects by the end of year two. If you had an already ranking site that is at least one year old then SEO can be much quicker than that.
If your site is already indexed and is a year or more older then I have seen it take as long as 22 days for google to crawl and process changes to webpages. Usually it is faster than that but that is the worst case I have seen. Again, new websites have to wait longer so again it is situational.
Backlinks will provide value as long as they exists and the page they point to exists.
On page tuning. The better your on page tuning is the fewer backlinks you will need to rank the page. See what your page one competitors are doing with target keywords and employ similar strategies and make sure you achieve competitive parity with your tuning or you probably won't stand a chance.
If you care about SEO as a marketing channel then it is part of your life forever going forward. Don't forget about social, email, and pay per click either... they are the best way to grow fast while you are waiting for SEO to kick in. A healthy online retailer will typically get about 15% of sales from SEO. So if you are an "SEO only" website then you are operating at a big disadvantage.

Oh ok thank you! Will google adwords be useful to me or should I stay away from that? One social strategy....
Have a blog that is totally separate from your money website. If your store sells poker tables then have a man-cave blog. The write edgy posts in the man-cave blog knowing you are competing with peoples' cousin's baby photos. Advertise your poker tables in the blog. Then use facebook sponsored stories to promote the edgy man-cave posts.
Eventually... you have two sites delivering high value and boosting your SEO. lather rinse repeat. Always be innovating and investing for new audience.
An SSL certificate will help me? I did not know that.Brand new site? 3 to 4 months.
Aged site? a week, to 3 weeks to see changes.
Besides links? Onpage seo. Fast site. SSL certificate. Good usability and low bounce rates, good CTR on SERPs.
An SSL certificate will help me? I did not know that.
Like anything... you have to be carful and know what you are doing. Be sure to uncheck the Google Search Partners checkbox. Tune out negative keywords. Start very small on daily ad spend until you know exactly what you are getting.Oh ok thank you! Will google adwords be useful to me or should I stay away from that?
