Hey,
The last days I'm seeing some newbies focusing on things that are not for them (for now )

Many of the newbies starting SEO for high competitive keywords. This is NOT good start because you?ll have to invest a lot of money and time. Most of you will not see results in the beginning and will think SEO is not for you.

Better start with low competitive kws. Take time for research and find lower competitive keywords. Think and research is that keyword good for making money.

Start Learning backlink techniques. There?s tons of information on this forum. See what works best.

Do NOT start giving your money and buying many seo services at once. If you have money to invest first read carefully the service and reviews before buy. If you are not sure for something don?t hesitate to ask. Choose one at time and see if there?s improvement in the serps.

If you don?t have enough money start to build links manually at first.

Good Luck

Great advice, Im pretty new at seo but i'm focusing on a low competition keyword and will be only using free tools until I start seeing results and can expand.

You say don't buy SEO services without reviewing them. What services seem to work for you? For building my whitehat authority sites, I've started with BTB and using link pushing services, NHSEO, and some other manual linking.

I've heard that link pushing works fine .. also services like linkpwn2, some senuke services etc.. there's plenty of services here ..

Thanks. I have recently started working in SEO. As a little side project I have started a blog that I am trying to use the SEO techniques I learn in work. Google Graduate Job Hunt Blog Blogspot and you should find it. Any advice on keywords or techniques would be really appreciated if you have the time

When you start a site you must already know the keywords bud ..
Check the competition in the niche for some keywords ideas ..

There's many techniques .. start reading the forum and start trying 1 or 2 techniques at a time ..
