Some questions about using Domain Hunter Gatherer

Hello there,

I've been trying to use the tool to find decent expired domains to resell or to go for a PBN, but I struggle quite hard to find those.
I sent some questions to the support, but I feel like the guy is going to be quite fast done with me and I wouldn't want to bother him too hard as I probably am not the only guy he deals with.

I've been looking for all informations I could find on the tool on Google, and it seems this place might be the best to ask some questions about it so here I go.

1/ I bought the tool 2-3 days ago and have been using it since then. It started working pretty easily and my problem was to find how to properly use the tool to find proper domains list. Though, since today, when I'm trying to scrap with any tool from DHG, I end up with almost no results. At the very first time, I had thousands of domains and now I barely have a hundred. I thought that was due to me not using proxy, but I bought 10 and it didn't change anything. Any idea why the scrap went so ineficient ? (see screenshot attached)

2/ When I was still able to find decent amount of domains, I had a lot and a lot of spammed domains. I was expecting to have many spams, but I'm wondering if there is a better way to check if it's spammed but going on a backlink analyzer to check if there is Russian or Chinese stuff
DHG has a "Domain Spam" checker, but I used it on a domain I used that isn't a spam and it actually showed it as a spam, so I'm not quite confident in this one ..

I dumped the domain lists into semrush to check backlinks and for spam took me a lot of time to find decent domains all the great domains will be taken before you find them I found plenty that were worth the $10 to register tho

You will not find any acceptable clean domain by scraping. They have been gone for years. I even stopped selling them, even though I had means to go through millions a month. There simply isn't any point.

Regarding DHG, I haven't used that for years. It seems like your filters are way too heavy.

I believe Spamzilla had an option to check domains for spam back in the day? Not sure whether they still operate with that. I had a bot that could remove the worst of the Japanese spam. Rest has to be done by hand. It's time consuming and non-rewarding.

If you really want to continue this way, it's easier than using scrapers is to simply get a list of all the domains that were ever registered. It's a one time payment of maybe $500 and then it merely comes down to processing. Highest Majestic package can sort 2.5 mil domains a month.

Still, if I were you, I would rather focus on lower end auction domains. Scraping is simply dead and has been for a while.

I somehow gave a try to expireddomains too, but as the tutorial says, there is a fucking lot of trash even though you filter them.
I didn't manage to find a single opportunity even after filtering, even for a not quite big domain.
That goes with the question about "Is there an easy way to know if a domain has been spammed ?" but I guess the answer is no and the only chance to reduce having a spammed one is to filter clearly before starting to check. But even filtering correctly before, I didn't find anything on expiredomains until now.

@Sandman_ Is there some kind of bulk backlink checker on SemRush or were you just doing it one by one ?

I'm not looking for 45 TF, 1400 legit RD to resell. I know SEO community would buy 10 TF and 50 RD for a hundred or two hundred euros, so that's exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm pretty sure you can easily find those kind of domains to get a first step in the scrapping business.
Also another question would be : why is there still so much auctions sites if there wasn't anything left to scrap ?
The auctions sites are scrapping themselves and obviously finding things (or at least people putting domains to auctions), so it means there's still business to do with scrapping. Am I wrong ?

I've been doing domains for 7 years or so. I've seen the auction domain prices go up like 5x since then and I've seen the supply of scraped domains die.

Anything clean above RD20+ is a borderline miracle. Keep in mind that I mean clean domains. I wouldn't wipe my cat's ass with what most people here consider to be clean.

I don't remember the last time I saw clean RD50+ scraped domain and I used to do around 3mil domains a month.

And you have it very wrong about the auctions mate. That's not how they work at all.

Godaddy - After expiry, domains that are registered with Godaddy are listed on auctions. They can still be renewed within the grace period. All in all, it's old domains being registered with Godaddy for possibly years. Not randomly caught on the internet.

Namejet and Dropcatch - They do the same as Godaddy, but they also drop catch domains. Domains that do not go into auctions simply drop. Anything worth a salt is drop caught within miliseconds and listed in auctions.

Whatever isn't drop caught is borderline shite and gets picked apart by hundreds of people who stalk expireddomains.net daily to get the left overs.

Whatever isn't picked apart there is basically what you are trying to scrape yourself.

And no, there aren't any hidden gems left unregistered anywhere. Everything has been scraped probably thousands of times over the years. You won't come up with a magical keyword that will reveal a gold mine of virgin clean domains.

Also, whatever people put on auctions has already been abused or it's shit. Bidders are very reluctant to bid on domains that are listed by a third party.

Not trying to discourage you, but you will eventually come to these conclusions yourself. Good luck.

As a sign of good will, I am willing to send you a list of all the domains ever registered until like 2018. Normally that list costs a few hundred bucks, but I don't work with these anymore, so I don't mind.

I will suggest you to go for a few .com you find. Its gonna cost you 5$ to registered an expired domain. You can find cheap registrars here --> tldes.com
Anything is better than new domain.
its like :
new domain < expired domain < expired aged domain < expired aged domain that never dropped < aged domain that never dropped
So is the the cost

Actually the fact that a guy with your experience explains me this is pretty encouraging. I prefer hearing right now that what I'm doing is pointless than keeping it going with no hope to get anything. If I may just do couple hundreds a month, I would be the happiest guy ever.
I feel like there must still be things to scrap and to resell in one way or another or simply you just wouldn't be there anymore to do it

Though, I'm currently using DHG and I'm limited to 50k Majestic data scrapping and I'm already on 20k left, so I wouldn't know how to check a list this big.

No, those are purely auction domains. When I say "scraped", I mean anything that can be registered for $10.
I stopped selling scraped domains. There isn't much of a demand for them and overall, it's not economically feasible anymore.

Pro tip: Don't use Majestic API. Just use DHG to scrape as many domains as you can. Then just remove the duplicates and manually upload the list into Majestic - https://majestic.com/reports/bulk-backlink-checker
That way you can do 500K a month instead of 50K.

@IM Rider Even trying to find a decent .com is hell on ExpiredDomains. Have you find anything decent on your side recently ?
I'm not really sure with the part "Anything is better than new domain."
Spammed as hell domains are probably not better than getting a new one.

@Nargil So if I get it right, you check auctions, find decent domains by checking history, stats, backlinks etc .. and then add them to your offer and take a margin on the auction by selling them on your side making sure for your clients that they get quality domains without having to check it on their own on auctions ?

Well all of you guys, thanks for your answers and help.

I was first looking to buy domains to make a PBN and then though scrapping might be more interesting but it seems like it's a waste of time.
I'll probably stick to doing PBN and stick to the other pain in the ass that is easy KW finding to get positions trafic and sell backlinks.

Also I'll obviously do my researches on my own, but to gain some time, do you have some good ressources on BHW or anywhere else about how to rapidly make profit from PBN's ?

Yes I have and a lot of people here have, you gotta follow the guide, I mentioned, and save your search filter and run it now and then to find gem, like I said before.
