Some questions about local business.

Hi guys, think im going to need some help from you.

Yesterday I was bored and the only thing I'm doing nowadays is lurking, and I took action.
So I was looking around for local businesses and I found a barber-salon. I noticed that they didn't own any website.
I'm a graphic designer, but not a webdesigner. I only illustrate and make headers, etc.

So: I looked up a nice looking theme on wordpress. I supposed they needed a wordpress blog as they only posted results of haircuts on their Facebook page.
I figured out some sort of service that I could offer them.
So I called them, offered:
* One year of editing of their header, photos uploaded.
* Installing the theme and add-ons.
* Upload their blog post.
* Help them with buying of domain.
* Put up the Swedish information.

How's the hosting with Wordpress? Do I need to buy them a year hosting from someone else?
I'm not sure if they're going to use the blog/website ALOT.
What more can I do for them?
Is it just a stupid service or do people appritiate support and admin-position on their blog/website? Because I think they don't have time/ they find it usefull to have someone else to do the work with the blog.

Called them as told, and they seemed convinced already. As they wanted a website.
Booked a meeting with them next week and going to present myself with my offer.
Looking for your responses, if you got any tips for this, please tell!

If you offer 1 year service and they pay for 1 year, then Yes you should buy one year hosting, because it will give you discount to compare with monthly payment. You can find someone with SEO experience or Google Adwords/Facebook Ads to offer your client too. Because online marketing is becoming very important these days, it will bring lots of customers to your local business customers.

To me I think you're marrying this customer. Better to charge more the first time you do business with them instead of only making money and baby sitting.

Thanks but how is it possible to make money when I can't give something to them?
Really.
If my service was just: Buy them a theme on wordpress and put up their header and translate and edit the site, then why would they pay me hundreds of dollars?

Anything else, please? Anyone?
