I am thinking of buying GSA ser, but before I invest my money and time, I am wondering if you can help me with it.

1. Is gsa ser effective now? (Aug 2014) or should I focus on something new?
2. Which type of VPN will be effective?
3. What type of monthly costs should I expect?
4. Can I use it to create powerful tier 1?

Thanks.

I'm using GSA SER actively for couple months, so I'll express my opinion.

1. Is gsa ser effective now? (Aug 2014) or should I focus on something new?S
- Yes, it is as effective as any other link building tool. Their goal is the same - to create backlinks. I've been using Senuke XCR for a while and its drawback was the speed, GSA manages to create backlinks way faster.

2. Which type of VPN will be effective?
-You shouldn't buy VPN for GSA. Usually people buy either private or shared proxies. I go with shared proxies (20 proxies for 17$).

3. What type of monthly costs should I expect?
-You have to have either captcha breaker or captcha sniper. I've already saved over 300$ only because I bought captcha breaker. This is no promotion, but you will spend loads of money for captchas, so be prepared. Also if you're going to make couple tiers, you will keep buying captchas every day.

4. Can I use it to create powerful tier 1?
-I don't know what power you mean, but it creates tier 1 pretty good and backlinks depends on your list. You either have a good list or your tier 1 won't be powerful. I use it for tier1 and its working fine.

I dont want to use my pc resources or keep it running all the time, which is why I want to use vpn.. Also won't shared proxies get used up very fast?

VPN will cost you more than shared proxies. Also shared proxies won't get used just like that. Just grab 5-10 of them and see yourself. But bare in mind that GSA required lots of RAM and CPU usage. Also if you will have a lot of campaigns, then you better get VPS. If you plan to do little backlinking and maybe throw it away later on, I would save money and try to find other options, this is a long term investment :)

I can invest about 75$ a month, so with shared proxies and vpn I can still stay in budget. My new concern is whether it scraps articles and has a inbuilt spinner? Cause then I will have to add that cost too.

Thanks for this post OP, I had exactly the same question! I think I will give it a try to GSA!

I think you mean a VPS (Virtual Private Server)

I don't know about size of your campaigns, but captchas gonna eat most of your budget if you don't have captcha solver. For content I'm using Kontent Machine which is $37. Also they have their own spinner which I use.

You use scraped articles for tier 1? And have good results?

1. Is gsa ser effective now? (Aug 2014) or should I focus on something new?

Yes, GSA SER is still very effective if used correctly!

2. Which type of VPN will be effective?

You will need a VPS with at least 4 GB of memory and as fast a processor as you can get. How many webpages (projects) are you trying to rank?

3. What type of monthly costs should I expect?

VPS ($10-$50), OCR captcha solving ($10-$20), Dedicated, private proxies for scraping and posting ($20-$100)... the list goes on. You can do it cheaply but don't expect good results.

4. Can I use it to create powerful tier 1?

No. Bulk/spam links are not for Tier 1 properties... FCS Networker can help with something like this if you want to automate it.

I cannot seem to be getting results with GSA at all, other methods such as blog posting seem to deliver results.

What type of links are you building with it, and where are you pointing the links? Directly at your money pages?

What is gsa ser lists? Will I have to buy it too after to use gsa ser?

You can scrape it yourself with tools like scrapebox

Captcha solvers will *successfully* resolve only about 30% of captchas. So it can be eventually removed from the list.

on proxy stuff i highly recommend you to go with shared or Dedicated 10-20 for start :)

If you want help on best settings let me know.

You don't have to buy lists for GSA SER, you can scrape up targets on your own using Scrapebox, GScraper or another scraping program. However if you don't want to bother with that and you want to just drop in a verified sitelist in to GSA SER and click "Start", you can purchase a list instead.

Doesnt GSA SER automatically find links and drops them?? Why do I need GSA SER lists?
