Hi! I recently decided that I want to learn graphic design. However I'm still trying to understand what is the difference between digital artist and graphic designer. Can someone explain this to me?

I have a samsung tablet. I would be really happy to get any recommendations on courses that are good for beginners.

Only one advice i can give you - everyday watch templates on ThemeForest marketplace on WordPress category. Why WordPress only? Because the category has the highest design standards in the world. there is the most beautiful and technically correct web design.

Other places like behance, deviantart - full of low quality works, so you will not understand which are brilliant which are bad when you a beginner.

You can pass a few courses on coursera or udemy. It doesn't matter. Matter is how many correct design did you see - 1 thousand or 10 thousand.

The differences between digital art and graphic design are the same differences between just art and design, Artists primarily work off instinct and passion, whereas designers employ a methodical, data-driven process to achieve a goal, tipically that goal is communicate graphic concepts clearly.
So art is more about expressing yourself, and graphic design is about getting solve specific communication problems but yeah, you end up using pretty much the same tools, you can learn design and do some art from time to time, is all about the purpose actually.

Learn the basics of drawing, the basic design and composition principles, the basics of typo and do some research on other designers work, learn how good design looks like. You can get all of that in youtube for free really.

Digital Artist - one who create art in digital form
Digital artist can draw face, characters

Graphic designer are the one designing elements
Creating environments, objects

But both belong to the same job category but kind of specialisation

Udemy is a good place to learn digital art. Graphic design is primarily for websites.

Digital artist makes use of digital technologies in the production of art. A graphic designer is a person who designs advertisements, magazines, and books illustrations, etc, by combining pictures and words. So, the digital products of a graphic designer may not be categorized as art, but rather perhaps some brochure design, advertisement design, book illustrations, etc. Whereas the digital products of a digital artist can be categorized as art, for example a digital painting done using software on a computer platform and digitally outputting the resulting image as painted on canvas. This is a technical difference between a digital artist and a graphic designer, though the difference between the two is rather very slim.

Hey @Pinky123 Both are entirely different from other one.

Graphic Design is communicate your message in a simple way to understand from using shapes, images, and typography. Example: Logo, Advertisement Banners, Product Design and UI/UX Web sites.

Digital art is fully artist work by using digital technology like Tabs, iPads, Stylus pen. Example, Digital Paintings, Drawings, Canvas.

A Digital Artist will become a graphic designer is easy. But it's difficult for a graphic designer to become a Digital Artist. Because a Digital Artist will have drawing skills by nature.

There are plenty of sites on the internet to learn both of these like YouTube, Udemy, Behance, Dribbble etc,.

Daniel Walter Scott's courses are great, done professionally and he delivers the information well. He is available in udemy but if you do not have the money to pay you can go to skillshare and learn from there.

There are many sites to get inspired from behance, dribble also muzli.
