Some questions about backlinking

Hi! I have been reading a lot about SEO for the last two months. I have also started my own niche site and I have a couple of questions.

For backlinks, I usually do article marketing in different article directories. I also submit my site to web directories. I will also try to find some blogs to comment them.

I don't have any tools that would help me, because I am a beginner and I dont have any money to buy them. I only got Market Samurai, but nothing for backlinking.

My questions are:

1. When I post an article, backlinking to my money site, do I have to run it through a pingomatic or something similar or thats not necessary? The same for blog comments and other stuff?

2. To web directories, should i submit only the main site or categories and posts on the page also?

3. Do I have to mostly link to the main site, or different categories on a page?

I would like to know, if you have any tips on how to grow my backlinks. I have done some articles and stuff about one week agoo, but when I view my domain in Market Samurai, it only has 1 backlink. There should be more.

It cannot hurt to do that

I would only do main..but once again..it cannot hurt by mixing it up I suppose.

if you can have links going to inner pages..all the better

link exchanges/making spam web sites with links/finding web sites and commenting on them..
if you had money then software/buying links/paying others to make them

Go to majestic seo..try that,,and the links dont just show up straight away
