I've never been able to understand why... but every time I make a request on #forhire, I receive dozens of PMs from people that are quite slow on the uptake...
Among those people:

  • those wanting to offer me things that are absolutely not what I'm looking for.
  • those that do not follow the instructions in my post
  • those sending me short messages such as: "hello how are you" or some other horse feathers messages when I clearly mentioned in my post that I'm expecting them to make a slight effort by providing me with some details as to what they can really offer.
  • those that do not seem to like when I ask questions regarding their service...

Pretty painful... but I think there are more shoes waiting to drop.
Althought there are a bunch of professional and talented people on Reddit, this is a small problem that is really annoying.

Not with Reddit, but I've seen similar things across multiple forums.

This Might Help! Write a random piece of code in a notepad, upload it to a free file hosting service, and provide the link in your job request details etc. Write that Applicants Must Ensure their response contain the code on top for thier messages to be read. i do this to filter out less serious inquiries and those who don't even bother to read before trying to apply.
