hi guys reason I am writing today some one is doing major click fraud on my adwords accounts and google is not detecting the invalid clicks what can I do to stop the clickfraud I already contacted adwords and they where not a help at all

any suggestions would be appreciated

it might sound trivial but what you need to do is to track traffic on your site, server side tracking. Check basic data as IPs, user agent, referrer, country then if all looks fine at this level try to dig deeper, see if the traffic is forwarded via proxies etc. After a few days you may detect some patterns if someone artificially hits your ads.

hi im already using clickreport to track ips some one is doing it for sure im getting 4,6 and sometime even 13 to 17 clicks per an ip that is not the norm in my industry have been running my campaigns for a while and this just recentely started happing a couple of months ago

one thing I would like to add I think he may be using some automated click software do you guys know of any software that does this ? or have any ideas how he may be doing it ?

thanks looking forward to some replies

If your using wordpress you can download the click fraud plugin.

There are 2 aspects here:
1. the fraudulent IPs - this is easy to fix, go to you ad.wor.ds account and simply ban them.
2. "automated click software" - there are many ways to inflate the clicks volume, it appears that some folks use this method to take down the competition. As this is highly unethical (attention, black hat doesn't necessarily mean unethical) I don't recommend click fraud method. You can solve this by denying clicks from those IPs or domain names within ad.wo.rd.s dashboard.

A few words though about fake traffic: if that comes from proxies, that is easily detectable. If the traffic is generated via tunneling connections (e.g., VPN), this is going to be more effective but the initiator of the fraud will expose the whole server and the entire IP class allocated to it, threatening the business of all other legit users.

thanks for all the replys guys I am blocking ips but he keeps on doing it with new ips really need some help how I can stop this I have a family to support and this guy is effecting my business big time I don't understand how some one can be so greedy and unethical I really need some tips on what I can do to stop this I know who is doing it exactly and have emailed him to stop many times hey I am not an unethical person at all and I believe in karma big time but this guy is playing unfair I think my only option to put a stop to this would be to do it back to him for a couple of days until he gets the message can some one please help me out here this has had be so stressed out for the last month im pulling my hair out trying to stop this guy but I don't know what I should do really need help please

come on I know some on here can give me good advice or help me

What did you say to adwords.. I guess you have not convinced google with your bad english that your getting illegitimate clicks..

What was the response?

My bad English ? i don't know how you came up with that assumption . Regarding google long story short they don't care they are making money either way.

What can i do to get this guy to stop?

You can track the IP's of the fraud clicks from your server and later, you can exclude those IP addresses in yoru Google Adwords Campaign.

Hi man,
We had a similar problem last month with one of our campaigns. search google for a site named clickcease. they do the blocking of the ips automatically so even if that guy changes ips all the time you will still be safe.

Josh.

This is your best bet. A little time consuming however. You should also be aware that if the same IP address is used constantly -Google will not charge you for the click. No body knows how many times they do charge but click fraud does account for a substantial profit for Google.

Nooope. I've coded something like this already, (not for Google though, but for Yahoo/Bing - but it does the same). And I am assuring you that people who can think ahead then most wont be using the same IP's for search and clicks. Naturally, the goal is to kill the ad, not to burn the competitor's $$..because as we all know, the burned ad spent will be refunded anyways. So yea, just insta-killing the ads when it go live is the #1 goal for these kind of activities. And blocking the IP's won't help as they would just use different IP's everytime. (For both search and click function).

Your best bet is to....YES! Hit them back. The guy whom I coded the bot for has made his competitor beg for agreement with him that they would run parallel ads peacefully. No killing of ads, just the best ad win :D

I have heard of competitors doing this type of stuff! I feel for you.

I don't care how many posts you have here, or if you are a Senior Member, that is a crock of shit. I understood what he wrote from his first post and then on... Maybe it is your ability to understand and not English writing skill that is the cause of your confusion, and possibly your hostility. Not all of us post crude and unhelpful shit to make our post counts go up and member morale down.

I would suggest WSEO, that you make slight variations in you word targeting and see if it helps at all. Someone could be running clickabilly on an autoblog network that is hurting you. To fix that I would continue to use Google search pages but remove yourself from the network for a bit. If you are being hit from search, the change in words might hurt conversion ratios a bit, but a bad click is a non converter, so less may be best. Removing yourself from the network display options allows you to see if it is blogside click traffic killing you (you might not detect this in you analytics as this can be spoofed to look like search clicks). If it is blogside, as change in wording might also help as these are usually keyword extracting RSS feed powered.

As for being targeted by a competing ad, I would not click-hit them unless you know how to get away with it as well as winning the peace in a mutal battle. If it is one of your competition, it would be better to attack them outsides of Adwords, but that is for you to figure out how and who to go through to do that.

Hope that helps a little.
