Hi Guys,

Some how one of my sites got completely pushed back to rank 700 in Google after a brand new competitor came on the scene, does anyone know how he did this?

Thanks

If your site is new sometimes what happens is google will rank you high temporarily and then re-index you to a lower ranking. Another possibility is you're going to jump around in the index while google figures out where you should be ranked.

This shouldn't have much of anything to do with your competitor. Your competitor might knock you off a spot but they can't send you back to page 70.

I was ranking 1st,
And now like 778.

No new backlinks or anything, nothing has changed not sure how he's done it.

I think it's a coincidence as jericho has said you might lose one place but not over 700. More likely if its a new site the honeymoon period is over and Google has placed you where it thinks you belong :( else it's a penalty. You'll only know by keeping up your linking stratagy and seeing what happens. Was it a new site?

You just dancing, keep doing what u doing...happens all the time.

It was a fairly new site but it sat on no.1 for weeks without any problem and hardly any backlinks.

You will only get manually penalized if it's a spam/virus/illegal site. Since you're not de-indexed you're probably just dancing around. Build more links to the site and track your results.

If it's a new site and you've not gone nutty with poor quality link tricks, it's just a dance. I've had it happen to me and hit the 800 range, just kept dropping good links and it came back in about 4-8 weeks.

Maybe Scrapebox spam commments with 'viagra' backlinking to you
