Thanks for the list! I've only used a few.
For SEO plugins, i'm familiar with no. 1,3,6. For comments i've only used no. 10.

my fave is the one that forces comments to be at least 15 characters.

Newbies are suffering a lot to find plugins for them. hope this will definitely help them a lot

Better WP is excellent and emails you a backup of your site as you schedule. Yoast is the best of the seo plugins and using this does away with sitemaps xml.

Every wordpress site needs to speed up so I would add W3 Total cache (although there are others that do the same job).
