    ...A New Computer Set Up!

    - 24" Apple Cinema Display
    - Unibody 13" MacBook Pro running OSX for Graphics work, iTunes etc.
    - 13" Unibody MacBook, running Windows 7 in Bootcamp for Marking tools, etc.
    - 500GB External drive to keep both an actively updating windows backup and a OSX Time Machine Backup.
    -iPhone 3Gs
    -Apple Keyboard and Mighty Mouse

Also got a new corner desk on order, which is much large to hold all this junk, and 2 MacBook Stands which will make the set up look awesome. This stuff won't be delivered unil next week. So don't mind the dusty old desk. Didn't realize it was so bad until I saw the picture I took.

My 7 year old inherited the previous 20" iMac that I had been using. So We're both happy as clams.

    Here's the pic:

Nice setup Erik, I'm also a Mac guy, got a G3 and G4. I'm looking to get another one from the money I'm making using Black Methods. Congratulations Man.

Do you mean how much time did it take to earn the money?

Yeah man I recommend this 100% the 24" Cinema is kind of expensive at $900. Hell, it's really F'ing expensive but the picture quality amazing.

The added bonus is that with a set up like this, I can grab my Mac Book Pro (lighted keyboard, firewire) and hit the road. I have VMware set up on that with a copy of XP with the essential marketing tools. That way I have my tunes, movies, games, and Black-hat work related stuff all there. The only draw back is that I don't have a native bootcamp install on it so that leaves out PC games which I don't play many anyhow.

Then for my wife, she can grab the unibody macbook and boot into her personal profile if ever she needs to travel with it, so that all my files are not in her way. And at any time if one of us needs to use the bigger cinema display screen, just sit down and plugin the minidisplay port and rock out.

But the default 'At home' mode is what you just saw, native windows on one side with the tools, and OSX on the other with the recreational stuff. Simply a mater of swapping a cable to switch the cinema display from one side to the other... Hmm, I wonder if anyone makes a mini-display port switch yet. Then it would just be a keystoke to switch em.

    Hey.

I'm planning on buying me a mac + macbook with some BH money soon too. Do you mind outlining how you paid, per item?

    Haha thanks.

I'm personally not a mac guy, but it's definitely a sexy setup :)

Have fun with the new stuff and keep earning more paper

Not a Apple guy either, but definitely a kickass setup. I hate laptops, especially since I never travel. I can pack the same hardware for half the price.

$900 for a 24" is insane though. Way overpriced imo. I just picked up a 23" acer for $160 or so, to run dual monitors.

You seem much more organized than me when it comes to backups and stuff like that.

I screwed up once when it came to backing up and lost every picture and song I had ever uploaded. That kind of thing only happens once. I know some of you guys aren't mac fans but Time Machine is by far the most intuitive, quickest, easiest to set up, and automated solution. It even works wirelessly when you attach your backup drive(s) to an apple airport, or if you get a time capsule.

It's nice to not have to think about doing them anymore on the mac side. I wish Microsoft could come up with something as good. It's still a hassle remembering to do a manual backup when I make big changes.

This is great dude, a setup I can only dream of haha. I'm running OSX86 at the moment, and is running really smooth and I love it, I am so much more productive on here, but there are still a few things I can't get working properly on it.

I have been wanting a Macbook pro for longer than I can remember now haha, so I congratulate you on that setup you've managed to afford there, really great stuff.

Would have never made it if not for BHW. I see you're new here, so soak up as much as you can then go out there and try some things. Don't fall in the trap of never trying new angles, or giving up on an idea if results are not what you expected. And remember what you make in a month right now, you might be able to make in an hour in the future.

Nuts? Yeah. I'm pretty sure that if I got tested I'd come back certifiably insane. Anyone who knows me here probably would agree. But yeah this display is expensive. I'm sure if you put this up against one of those 'cheaper' displays you mentioned, you would see the difference. A picture can not do this thing justice.

Another way to look at it is like this: You can buy a $800 42" HD TV but when you go shopping for it and see that $800 TV next to the same sized $1600 TV, and how much better the other one looks, you might decide to go for the more expensive one. That is, if you got the extra loot to spare.
