Hi, I have couple of question about 301 redirect. Please answer them
    1. Is there any source where it explain how to do 301 redirect and rank your new site in this forum?

    2. I have two domains on same niche also hosted on same server. First is ranking on page 2 of google( site is less than 6 months old having good amount of links) and second site it old domain with 0 PR (nearly 2 years old, rank 400+ and have some backlinks that I build recently). So my question is can I redirect the page 2 ranking site to old domain will it boost in ranking? Because I think my page 2 site does not increasing rank because of new domain.

    3. If I transfer one old domain to another new domain. Does it age also transfer if yes then will whois data checking site shows it new age or old one.

    4. If I 301 redirect old domain to new one and build links on old domain will backlinks transfer. (I think yes but I need to confirm)

    Thanks

    1. There's many ways to set up a 301 redirect. The easiest is probably to add a line of code to the .htaccess file:

    To Redirect Certain Page(s):

    Code:
    Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.yoursite.com/newpage.html
    To Redirect Entire Site:

    Code:
    Redirect 301 / http://www.new-site.com/
    2. Yes, if you 301 either domain to the other one, it will boost it's ranking.

    3. The age itself will not be transferred (whois will still show original age), but your site will get an authority boost from an aged domain.

    4. Yes, you can build backlinks to both the old and new domain and they will all be transferred.

There was thread a while back claiming success with a redirect method that went like this- buy aged domain, put 1000 words of content on it, throw links at it then redirect to money site. The thread went several pages and many people claimed success with this. I have not seen this posted lately so i was wondering if this was still effective after the recent updates.

really? I am really shock how I miss it. Any way to find it.

Let me tell you the domain I just see is also doing 301 redirect and rank #1 for good competitive keyword. So I am sure 301 redirect having some secrets which I am trying to learn.

Special things is that his site is less than 2 month old and having 1 post looks like 1000 words.

The post may have been deleted because the member that posted it was pushing one of his link building services in the thread. So he gave the general info regarding the aged domain, the redirect, the content then he said something like "Then I used XYZ service to build links to the domain before I redirected it." which made it a no no because it looked like he was trying to skirt the BST. The point of the thread though was others tried it and I am assuming with various link building methods and had various measures of success.

Just wondering if it is still working well at this time.

@Getwhatchuwant: Don't wonder. It is working still. Due to privacy it is not good to share its info.

Hi You would be better off redirecting the individual pages to relevent pages on your site using .htaccess, youll find many tutorials on the web which will show you how to achieve this

Majestic SEO can tell you this and probably similar backlink analysis tools too.

The new domain "inherits" the latent semantic weight of the domain you redirect. If all links to the redirected domain say "payday loans", the redirect is basically a big "payday loans" link to the target site.
