Hello,
In short, I have been getting complaints from clients and having trouble reaching Gmail users (bad open rate). Maybe not just Gmail, but at least that's what I have discovered myself lately.
Problem: Email goes to spam straight away (no pics used in the body, personalised email, no bs or actual spam content)
All I do is write a short email, intro, one link using bit.ly and a signature with a picture and links to the website.
No spammy words, genuine personalised email.
Hubspot CRM inserts a pixel into my emails so I can track when someone opens it. Which is quiet amazing, but I realised Gmail was marking all my emails as spam.
So when I started to write this post, it was intended to look for a solution. I found it. But I thought you might find it useful
Experiment 1: Usual email (goes to spam and google says "email has content usually used in spam emails")
Experiment 2: Leave the signature but remove the image. Email received without the spam filter
Experiment 3: Just name and email with ph nr. Email received without the spam filter
Experiment 4: Reduced image size to 95x95px 25kb, kept the rest the same. Added some smiley faces to Title and dots. Email received!
Conclusion: Large file images trigger spam filter on gmail, avoid images and more than 3x links to go under the radar.
Plo Plot twist. t twist. I watched a course by someone, who I recall said some words like "Free, offer, ..., money" etc trigger that too. So what other things you think we should avoid when sending emails to prevent landing in the spam folder?
Looking forward to everyone's experience. I literally might have lost hours of research and targeted emailing due to stupid filters not liking my big picture. I wish I knew this when I started...
