Google changed their policies pertaining to Gemini API & Google AI Studio
The free trial credits can no longer be used for Gemini & Google AI Studio
but I have found out that the credits still work for vertex AI
You can still use all the AI models like Veo, Nano Banana and so on using the Vertex API

totally agree Vertex AI is still more flexible bc their aim is for enterprise use.

yeah the vertex AI workaround is legit, ran about 40k tokens through veo yesterday on a free trial account with zero issues. gemini API started throwing billing errors on me like 3 days ago so good timing on this post honestly

That is such a smart move to bypass the restriction by switching to vertex AI. Honestly, thanks for the tip because nobody has time to deal with those annoying policy changes when we just want our stuff to work

You can still use another gmail account and get the credits that way for the account. The thing is; you would need a new Gmail each time.

Looks like Vertex AI is the better option for now if someone still wants to use those credits.
