Solo Ads (Email List Marketing) Journey

There has been a thread on BHW which focusses on a solo ad method from around 2010; what I aim to do is recreate this method and show you the journey along the way. I already have a Solo Ad business but this journey is here to show that with a little start up and a good work ethic you can earn a decent amount online for sending a few emails each day. To put it into a real life scenario there are sellers selling 1,000-2,000 clicks a day with a price of $0.35c/click (approx.) which makes them a cool $350-700 a day for sending a few emails. So as you can see there is potential to grow this into a decent income.

So right, firstly let me outline the general method:

1) Create an autoresponder account
2) Create a high converting squeeze page
3) Create a high converting funnel
4) Create a good follow up series
5) Buy solo ads to grow your list (making back most of your cost through your funnel)
6) Once your list is built - Sell solo ads
7) Keep your list replenished - spend around 30-50% of your profits into new traffic for your list.
8) Bank and enjoy.

Right so what have I done so far and what will I be sharing in this journey:

I will be sharing my exact method MINUS - squeeze page link/design, follow up series, funnel.

Currently I've set up my autoresponder - I'm using Aweber (it is the best in the industry).
You will need a domain name - this should be something relating to earning online but without sounding like a scam. I prefer domains like: yourroadtosuccess.TLD, joinmebecomefree.TLD etc etc. << This is important. You will of course also need hosting.
I'm working on my squeeze page (I have developed my own plugin for this), funnel and follow up series.

In every post I will be outlining and going into detail on all the steps I take along with keeping a cost to revenue amount at the bottom.

Costs so far:
$1 for domain (godaddy coupon)
I will not be counting hosting costs in this as I have multiple servers but for the purpose of this case study/journey we will say $10/month.
Aweber is FREE for the first month! - $0

Right so today hasn't been the most productive due to offline commitments but the following has been completed:

1)First week of followups for the autoresponder.
Followup sequences are vital in this business and we need to ensure we have good content that users will find value in. The first follow up I created is scheduled to go out as soon as the user opts in to my list. In this email you should contain a brief description about yourself and your success online. You want to build a "persona" of a successful internet marketer. In this first email you will not be pitching or selling them anything; what you will be doing is building your brand which you can use to sell them stuff later. I like to include a short motivation quote and I engage the user to respond back to me to build a relationship with my subscribers as it is more profitable in the long run.

I usually set up my follow up sequence in the following way: Day 0 (when they optin), Day 2, Day 4, Day 6, Day 8, Day 10, Day 12, Day 14. = Total of 8 follow up emails to write.

As you go along the days you will be pitching free methods and ideas to do certain tasks and even cash making methods. These do not have to be huge earners, simple ones work fine too. What I like to do is provide them with simple internet marketing tutorials and guides such as setting up a website, or methods to get free subscribers/traffic etc.

By day 14, you'll have a really loyal base of subscribers who actively read and engage in your emails and these are the people you can target to sell whatever you like - ebooks, guides, products - literally anything you want.

2) Ebook Guide for funnel
This is the product I'll be selling in my funnel to claw back the money I spend on buying traffic (Solo ads). I'll be selling the ebook for $9 so I'd need 4 sales per 100 clicks to break even/make a profit. I'll also have a downsale for the same product at $4.99 (you want to gain the most out of the traffic you buy, so as long as the traffic converts to any type of sale it is valuable).
You can either create your own product like me or promote a relevant CPA offer - trial and error.

Well aim is to build up the list to around 10k as quick as possible by reinvesting all profits and optimizing funnels for positive ROI on any traffic I buy, and from then on looking to make around $300-1000 a week from it.

I've been busy all today so no chance to do much, just wrote a page more in the ebook guide for the funnel.

Plus, Aweber and PayPal been pretty strict just recently and many sellers that I know got banned.
