Software/Tool section in BST?

I think the BST section is quite hard to explore as it is with all stickies and special characters in titles.
Maybe it would be good idea to create new section only for software, webapps and tools? Mixing them up with regular services makes it very difficult to keep a track of all new great tools that are being released out there.

For me the main issues is to actually find a thread that interest me. Because tools and software are scattered between sections it is hard to find them and with BST busy as never it takes big amounts of time that for most is to valuable to bother. Also some great software don't get initial traction and get buried.

Nice idea op. So if you wanted to find a piece of software that was "link building software" would you look in Link building (ie specifically what the software, web app / tool is for) or a general software section?

With the forthcoming new platform we're able to develop the marketplace and are we're looking for any and all ideas.

To be honest there is probably 60-70 active tools at the moment around BHW (by active I mean bump at least once every few days). Giving them separate section marked "Tools" or "Software and Tools" would put them in one place and increase sales for developers. Dividing them in to categories might lead to partition in marketplace and make it even harder to browse.

Ahhh the 2012-2013 BHW. that wasn't a tools section on the marketplace (BST at the time) that was the only section on the marketplace. It was all in one subforum

Since them we segmented into many sections http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f73-marketplace/

That is a great idea, its really difficult to find good tools and software on the marketplace.

Actually there were 2 sections - Services for sell and second one, Items for sell as far as I can see in link I sent you. Items for sell was only for software and tools it seems.
Adding an extra section only with software, webapps and tools would make browsing them much easier. Tools usually don't get that many bumps like services so they are being pushed away from front pages.
One extra section on forum wouldn't hurt but it would surely make it easier for potential buyers (and especially SEO providers and agencies that are looking exclusively for tools rather than services).
