Is there any script or similar software to analyse exactly where users are clicking and what they are looking at or similar? Basically just looking for a way to improve user experience. So difficult to tell which buttons perform better or worse without it for example.

There are heatmap plugins which does that. Search according to the platform you are using.

With google analytics you can set events on everything on the page.

You can roll your own too, just hook up JS events to things and capture a AJAX request.

Use Crazy Egg plugin - It shows you where your visitors are clicking on your site.
