Good day guys, sorry admins if this is not the place to post this kind of thing :(.

I'm a software engineer, and I love reading about SEO/Internet marketing in general.

I've been working on a couple of personal projects but honestly, nothing worth mentioning here.

Recently, I've been thinking on working on a project related to SEO, but before committing myself 2-3 years to any project, I was thinking in actually asking you guys, is there something in particular you would like to see that is not available or is too expensive?


Some ideas I have been thinking of:

- Expiring/Expired domains marketplace with several column filtering capabilities, but I think there are too many services already doing this (e.g: expired domains net, dom cop com, bluechip backlinks, etc )

- Mass Private Proxy system, users subscribe to a service that allows them to send requests through a massive pool of proxies, allowing them to keep most of their requests undetected (ideal for things like SeNuke or Xrumer)

- Mass Forum Scraper : users subscribe to get a massive quality list of places where the can post their comments (the list gets refreshed each X amount of time)

- A fiverr like service specifically for people in SEO/Online Marketing ? (haven't though of specific details on this one).

I think you get the idea. If there's something you have in mind and you don't have a problem sharing it here, please do so. I would love to hear what's in your mind.

the major issue currently seo market is facing is a detailed backlink tool. It should be like ahrefs but cheaper like $15 per month

create something similar and you will be rich by the year end

Edit: i just got an awesome idea.reading this thread..I will be making that for myself and I'll be rich now by this year's end.. muhahaha

Actually thought about this one, my main concern about this is the initial investment. To give you an idea, the company I work for has around 3,000 Amazon EC2 instances gathering a lot of information from certain sources I cannot mention.

The point is, between that and scalable storage (AWS DynamoDB, AWS Redshift, elastic Search), the company pays ~$100,000 USD per month.

I suspect that's why hrefs is so fricking expensive.

I think it's an amazing/profitable idea, but I'm pretty sure I will quickly hit my $$$ limit with something like this :(

If someone made a software that grabs online trackable income from many sources (Clickbank, Amazon, CJ, Maxbounty, AdSense, Crak, etc) and combines them into a single dashboard, well that would be just dandy.
 
How about something that's actually useful?

A software that detects footprints.
You load up your list of urls, and it tries to find anything it can that links them together, or same/similar parameters. Would be good for your own stuff, or to snipe competitors.

Holy cow you just b**** slapped me man, have no idea how they can run this without charging though.

They don't offer an API, so there's no need to pay for something like DynamoDB / ElasticSearch / Redshift. They store the raw data as files in S3, but still.... that magnitude of crawling sounds quite expensive. Seems like they're doing a great public service.

I will take a better look this weekend.

Affordability has become the major issue for seo's. Previously we can rank any website with just free links. Now its not that easy anymore. You need paid links, more costly content etc etc

So paying $99 per month for a tool isn't just feasible for people who wants to use the tool a couple of times in a week. And no i dont want to go to fiverr whenever i randomly found a site and want to see its backlinks

Moreover when you divide the SEO into three basic things, IMHO they would be following

1. Niche/Keyword/Market research
2. Content
3. Link Building

so any SEO tool related to these 3 categories will be profitable

for first 2 categories there are numerous affordable tools however for the 3rd one there isn't any EXCEPT ahref. So it is a huge potential.

Ahrefs is expensive, I agree on that, but considering the value it provides and the scope of the task it’s trying to undertake I think it’s one of the most valuable tools on the market and though it’s exoensive, I think it’s provably a fair price.

As I said, "The tool exists but you can't afford it !== "the major issue currently seo market is facing". Your point is that doing effective seo in 2018 is much more costly than back in 2010. Well yes, that's absolutely true.

If your strategy is I'll wait for the cost to lower back to what it was, I think you're going to wait for a looooong time. So the only solution is to become able to afford it.

As a side-note, Ahrefs has 1/3rd of Google bot's throughput. That's really expensive to set up and operate. You're getting it for $99. That's cheap. Imagine if there was no such tool for public sale.

why do you think i am pushing OP for cheaper tool :D you have to start somewhere for a solution.. and i have shared a resource that offers petabyte of data for free. Maybe Op can use it and save the database costs.

and I understand Ahrefs cost and everything but again I am thinking like a "pure greedy customer". I mean who doesn't want an Iphone 8 in $200
