Never heard of socialengine, but phpfox is pretty good. Phpfox has a lot of add on mods. Boonex, which I believe is dolphin, I don't like it. If I had to choose, it would be phpfox.
i have use phpfox,got a lot of features and
its pretty great but be carefull if u used it install a image captcha for register users
otherwise the site will be full of spammers
