Social Signals for SEO Experiences

What are your experiences using sites like addmefast to increase your site social signals as far as rankings is concerned ?

I was out of SEO game for almost 1 year, and last month I started experimenting again. I used social signals as part of one client campaign but I can't be sure if they helped or not cause at the same period I made a lot of other various backlinks (wikipedia backlink, high pr blog comments, web 2.0 backlinks etc).

So my question is have you seen ranking increase just by social signals of services like addmefast? Of course there are a lot of case studies that show the results of social signals on rankings but what about the crappy social signals from fake accounts that you get from sites like addmefast.

Social signals do not rank your site. It would be wonderful if this were the case because it's so easy to game, but it's not. I've never seen any legitimate studies showing that this was the case.

You can't rank site ONLY with social signal, but I'm 100% sure that it has some influence in your total SEO score.
Nobody knows exactly how much, but it's better to do it.

We concentrate only on these:
- FB shares for site URL
- FB likes for site URL
- FB likes for FB page
- Twitter followers
- Retwitts for twitts with site URL

Actually, I completed a case study, one year ago today, where I got a brand new site ranking with just content and social signals alone. It was a completely controlled case study.

To answer OPs question, I've used social signal services on internal pages of my sites before and found positive results. I wouldn't expect any substantial, long-term results though. Use them more as a supplement to your link-building to maintain a natural link profile.

I need to pop in here and say that I do believe, for local SEO at any rate, it helps.

I just run link colider in the background and get social signals for my sites that way.

When I run my tools by some checkers my trust flow rises with the amount f social signals I get.

I do not know how much influence it has, but I look for any advantage that someone else is not using. When I first put my personal tech site on link collider the TF was about 18, now its 24.

I just get likes, shares, stumbles, and tweets and it does seem to help.

Since I do not really know how trust flow is calculated, I do not know if these mentions are driving it. I have just seen this TF increase during a time when I was only using LK on this particular site and not building any links.

I have a site that was never intended to be ranked - just to receive traffic from Twitter. It's an EMD & the only backlinks to the site are tweets - it's sitting at the bottom of page one on the back of this alone.

In my testing social signal have done nothing to help rank site, though it may help credibility factor.

Social signals don't really help your sites rank better. They just make your sites look more genuine in the eyes of google. The closer you get your site to mimic a big brand, the less likely you are going to be affected by all the updates going on.
