[Social Network] What's needed?

Hi,

So me and my partner has come up with a decent idea for a new social network (Specific Niche). The idea might be good but we lack experience in this area.

There will be no website for it, only an App. We will start with Ios, so we will be using Xcode to program it. What i need to know is the recommended or required tools to accomplish something like this. It's going to be an app almost as complicated as Instagram, and i am going to code it, this is a LOOOONG-term project. So what i think i need so far is the following:

Xcode & Parse.

Is there anything else i need to get startet?

Social media is going to be a very hard market to get started in, but let me know when you start it and i'll join!

Do some research of you haven't already - first make sure there's nothing out there already and second make sure there is demand.

Also start working right now on the build up to launch - website, Twitter, FB etc because when you launch you will need MASSIVE marketing effort to succeed.

Marketing it and stuff like that is already handelend. What i need to know is what softwares i need or what's recommended.

I have checked out the sites where you can make one but i need to make mine from scratch. So my question is basically if Parse + Xcode alone would be enough? If it's an app just for iphone, ipad etc
