well, bro you need to be a good visionary programer yourself or have a really close friend to start this out, and still need a lot of work there after. Anyway, wishing you success!

I have a basic <DOCTYPE=HTML> script to start off with. If I don't get a programmer for a while. I'm going to have to go in myself. What type of code do Facebook and Tumblr use?

Facebook started with just a simple single server ruining Apache, PHP & MySQL.... Low cost, just gotta pay for the server & bandwidth. You could go even more modern and use the Amazon cloud to keep costs down even more while you start up, then move to your own servers.

It's so easy, you could do it....
