I joined because I'm a recording artist & I'm looking for tips & tricks to advance my social media marketing. It's been pretty hard but I know with enough research I'll see a return on investment.

I don't understand how you got to this point. OP wasn't even asking to be spoonfed and literally said "with enough research I will see a return" . Seems like they are here to learn and you are instantly being negative to them so simmer down.

If you're into instagram. then automation is def the way to go.

I've been using the GMT 2 Instagram bot with around 6 of my manually created accounts. So far it's going good. Jarvee is a little out of my budget for right now.

Automation is the way to go. However, the road to automation is a complex and mysterious one. There is no one true master. No internet Jesus to guide us. Being just a recording artist isn't enough to get the maximum benefit of automation + black hat combo. To succeed, you need to wear different hats: programmer, debugger, automator, system administration... student. It took me 2 years to study CSS, HTML, Ruby on Rails, Python, and enough stuff here and there to navigate the complex world of automation. It is my hobby.

I was also blessed enough to go to school for IT and cloud technology. Within 1 month, I set up a cloud + home network that is running 50 accounts on GMT2 for 0 cost in proxies with my scalable method of utilizing new cloud free trials. I am currently on the journey to adding 200 more this month, and have to figure out how to write scripts to automate my proxy creation, as it is one of the most time consuming bottlenecks I have.

My point is, the more you learn and experiment with the cloud and automation tools (of which I researched and use more than 10+ to scale my one man operation), the more quickly you can setup these systems and make your vision come true. If you need pointers, let me know.
