Social media sentiment analysis

Dear community,

Is there any interest in a (social media) tool that does sentiment analysis?

This boils down to determining the sentiment of user interaction with your social media accounts.

To name some ideas:

- assigning a positivity score to each of your Instagram posts to see which posts stimulate positive comments and which ones do not
- filtering out negatieve replies to a Twitter/Instagram post, so you can handle immediately when one occurs
- analyze sentiment based on certain time periods

Disclaimer: I have not written such a tool, but am wondering if anyone here would be interested in such functionality. I do have a background in data science and sentiment analysis.

No, what would such a tool even look like? Even if someone were to design software to track that, wouldn’t snarky and sarcastic comments get sorted into the positive pile? I hope something like that will exist soon, I wonder what kind of applications we might see. Well, most of the internet is focused on providing a negative user experience in a way that prolongs the retention. Still, one can only hope that it will get better.
