Social Media better than SEO?

if you do not mind me asking what type of bots do you use to manage your accounts? I do everything manually and have 5 accounts for each social media site.

i too would like to know what bots . im 6 hours ahead of my target market and scheduling posts/staying up all night is killing.

Comparing between SEO and Social Media, I think they are equal. 50:50.

Social media gives instant traffic and good for short term. While seo for long term. It is also impossible to rank sites with social signals only, they are just one of the more than 200 factors google consider while ranking but google plus has a bit more weight among other social signals.

You should be looking at as many traffic sources as you can. If you have a niche and you are not active in forums in that niche like you are here, you are missing out on some really targeted traffic.

Paid trafic when you can afford it and manage it properly is instant customers. But anyone who is running a PPC campaign and not doing SEO for the keywords that they see converting every day is an idiot. You know the volume and a word that converts, for heaven sake rank for it no matter how long it takes, and put that money to finding another keyword or to own the page.

Social media is a botch to figure out how to convert, or it has that reputation, but being active on social media will drive sales. You should do it if you understand how.

Good quality white papers can bring in targeted traffic, so can infographics.

Spend a lot of time learning to drive traffic if you can drive traffic at a whim, you can own your part of the Internet.

Dude I know right? my index finger is killing me from following so many people.I really need to invest in a bot but I am scared that my accounts will get banned.I can do the posts myself just not the following its very very time consuming.

One more vote for social media over SEO, as one of the major five non-ranking methods of getting targeted traffic to a site. Like the other effective non-SEO methods (traffic-hijacking high ranking pages via their comment sections, video marketing, hi-traffic niche forums, comments on major sites like YA or Wikipedia), social marketing make you less reliant on Google, or totally independent if you want to avoid their shackles. You can focus on bigger niche keywords that are hyper competitive, because you're not trying to rank for them. And social media permits one to get more relational and engaged with a demographic than SEO could do.

Well, it just depend on your niche and approach but fact is, SEO overruns the social media.

With social media you don't have the control but hope things work out, with SEO you can rank for just about any terms if you are ready and willing as well as witty.

Excellent point zebrahat,I do not like Google controlling how much I make.I like the fact that I am doing everything on my own.

Try ranking a new site for "payday loans" in the current Google environment, which is now committed to de-indexing whole subjects it deems to be spammy. When the leading search engine tries to de-rank-or de-index you if you break any of its current 50+ rules, it's time to find a new method of getting web traffic.

Social media and web 2.0 But FB have changed so much, and is very hard to to get anything from it

I think both SEO & SM requires hardwork.

The difference though is that seo you work hard for months & then your project goes on autopilot mostly if you have an established business while in Social Media you always need to be active, when you stop everything goes down down down .

Merging both is the best option.

What ever you do, if you don't have quality content you will never see result .

It really isn't that black and white. It's all pieces of the same puzzle. If you have a good social media influence then you're going to naturally get backlinks, which will in turn benefit you SEO wise. And if you have a good search engine presence then you'll probably get naturally shared around social media (given your content is interesting enough and not just a product).
