Social Bookmarking Backlinking Strategy

Hello All,

I am about to begin my backlinking process but am confused on a few things regarding social bookmarking. I can?t afford bookmark Demon yet so I am using social marker for now, my questions are:

1. Do I only submit to ?do-follow ?sites (cus there are only about 19 do-follow sites on social marker) - is 19 social bookmark submissions enough to rank high in Google?
2. If 19 sites are not enough for ranking where can I find other ?do-follow? sites that social marker does not list?
3. How many bookmarks do I submit to a day without looking suspicious?
4. Do I sign up different account names to the social bookmarking sites so that I can submit more often?
5. I understand that it is best to ping each bookmark submission, but where do I find the RSS feed link that I am going to be pinging?
6. If I haven?t bookmarked in awhile will my site drop in rankings? In other words how often do I need to bookmark the same site (1ce a month, 1ce every 2 months?) and will I have to create new bookmark accounts when I do it?

You can do your own bookmark campaign or outsource it with a little fee,

Depends on your goal and competitors, with 19 bookmarking sites is usually enough to get your site indexed but pay attention to the competitors' backlinks, you want to do better than them.

2. If 19 sites are not enough for ranking where can I find other "do-follow" sites that social marker does not list?

browse around the forum, you can find lots of people offering list of social bookmarking sites.
they might not all be ******** but you can use firefox addons like search status to know the attribute of ******** or nofollow of a site.

3. How many bookmarks do I submit to a day without looking suspicious?

If you do it regularly and from my experience I'd say no problem with submitting 50-100 per day.

4. Do I sign up different account names to the social bookmarking sites so that I can submit more often?

Yup, it's safer that way, and it's better to have several accounts in each social bookmarking sites so you can vote your submitted links there instead of submitting them again.

5. I understand that it is best to ping each bookmark submission, but where do I find the RSS feed link that I am going to be pinging?

You can find the RSS link on the user profile but not all social bookmark sites offer RSS feeds for each user.

As often as you can, again, depends on your competitors, and if you can mix with other link building techniques such as directory submissions, articles, press releases, etc.

One point that is not mentoned very much here is you can only submit one url to a site so if someone else submitted the url you are out of luck

what I do to get a few extra links to the home page is sumit the url this way

www.webpage.com
www.webpage.com/index.html

almost all the bookmarking site wiil accept this, good luck

Nah, even though your url is already submitted you can still vote for the story
The more votes you get the more chance you have to get
Your story on first page or better PR.

If you submit to phpdug and scuttle sites, you can submit the same url
Over and over again using different sets of titles, descs, and tags,

Sorry to borrow for your topic..but i need to ask something regarding this as well. hope you don mind.

Would like to know is it ok to submit to 'no-follows' sites as well? Will they carry any weight compare to 'Do-Follow' sites? As i am using BMD, there's alot of 'no-follows' sites in BMD. Appreciate someone can clarify this for me? Thanks!

Of course it's OK. It's not like the Internets will beat you up for getting a nofollow link. Many search engines (Yahoo most notably) follow them anyway.

Really? Thanks! I thought i was doing wrong when Olorrieo mention he's going for 'do-follow' Social bookmarking.. Will do, as long as it's carry links that i will submit both. Thanks!

You just need to be more cautious to sb sites that are using
Redirect or out script
If they do this you won't get anything.

You can check from the submitted story, if the links say
Hxxp://.../out/yourlink

Or something similar you shouls avoid them.
This is common for pligg based sites

I use Book Marking Demon 5. I have about 500 bookmarking accounts on 80 different bookmarking sites. I am adding more daily based on a thread I read that someone said they have over a thousand accounts to spread their bookmarks across.

I use ScrapeBox to check URLs for my backlink before bookmarking. Once I have a list of URLs that I know I want to bookmark, I load them into BMD and begin.

I am currently bookmarking URLS to the following:

"Content" pages in my sites - I ignore site-map, about-us, etc.
Articles containing a link to my site
Blogs with comments that backlink to my site
Random RSS feeds (sports, news, business, etc.) to make my bookmarking activities look more natural and avoid having my accounts banned.

I bookmark my "Content" pages and Articles multiple times - using different titles, tags and descriptions (BMD allows you to use spun text do to this).

I ignore NO/DO follow and bookmark every URL that contains a link to my site.

I then ping each bookmark account profile page, using BMD.

Now, my questions for you guys...

I have a list of about 50 ping servers available.

How many pings of each submission should I do - would 50 pings of each profile page really accomplish anything more than 2 pings does?

How do you "vote" for your bookmarks? I haven't seen this in BMD5.

This is just a post which has cleared all the doubts on social bookmarking. This would be great when experienced gurus add more tips on this.
