Possibly a shameless self promotion, but I've received positive feedback in the past so whatevs :).

My brother is an amateur photographer. So I decided to put a website together for him to showcase some of his best shots. I thought some of you might enjoy taking a look and admiring it!

You can see them all at http://rosscam.co.za

Enjoy!

Does he do any editing / post-processing? I like the second shot and the third has huge potential if you were to bring out the tone curves (shadows&highlights) in photoshop or lightroom - brighten the clouds, bring out the blues in the sky and the greens in the trees...plus, boost the clarity up a few notches and Bob's your uncle! Does he shoot in RAW or just flat JPG?

Raw in most cases dude and he only does very slight post processing like colour correction and brightness/contrast enhancement in some cases but that's about it :)

pretty decent shots
I think that is the biggest close up of a fly I have ever seen.

Put it on a colorful background and it would made for an epic puzzle

but the bottom one would also be a bad ass puzzle to do, 5000 pieces :)

I like photographing clouds, love the clouds in your pics. How much post processing was done on the pics? I see the clouds are a lot sharper than what they are from my camera

I also like the photography a lot and most of all i like natural photos a lot because there is no comparison of natural beauty.

Thanks a lot dude, they are my brother's pics so I am not sure exactly what editing goes into them, but I do know he only applies touchups most of the time, colour correction, sharpening to an extent, etc. He prefers the natural look apparently so he stays away from hectic photoshopping or anything like that.
For anyone wondering he is using a Canon EOS 550D

Good shots.
But the close up of the fly made me throw up. That's a disgusting creature.
Anyway, awesome photography, maybe he should consider the pros :)

Really nice pictures dude. My partner has similar camera, she does mostly photos of people.

i really admire ppl that can take good photographs and I think it's a talent you either have or you don't.

Lol, did you literally throw up? And yeah I think he is considering it. I'll show him the encouragement from you guys too, that will be a good push I think.

This photo just goes *POP* after a little editing. :)
Wow, that it does dude. Nice job, I guess it's like cutting your own hair, just one of those things you can't always do yourself. I know many people also get a second opinion when mastering a record.

I love to snap pictures. I'm not that good at it but I use a T1i and have a small fortune in lenses. Snapped this a couple years ago at Brookfield Zoo during the dolphin show. They move so fast it's just a matter of pointing, shooting and hoping something turns out.

A mosquito I shot while on a screen door with a macro lens. I should have back it out another inch but he was so tiny. Not much color to those blood suckers.

a jumping spider but again I was too narrow but the critter wouldn't sit still and he was about the size of a pencil eraser (legs and all).

on a funny note, megashots.net have a section for insects macro, and some guy said people who love to take macros of insects should be termed insectophiliacs :D
