So with reddit.....

So im doing the ole reddit trick. And it works pretty good, not an explosion of traffic but its better than a kick in the teeth.

One question though, when submitting to reddit, where is the best place to put your story.

For example I am submitting streaming things, things such as the latest episode of heroes or whatever it may be. I can post to the entertainment section and get on front of the ENTERTAINMENT homepage within seconds. However looking at my logs, I dont gain that much traffic from that particular page.

So is it better to just post to the main reddit section, It will be harder to get to the front. But even say on the sixth page, i would think i would get more traffic.

Help anyone?

Unspammed site...... I dont think so. You only have to watch the upcoming pages to see the amount of crap that gets pushed through.

agreed.. you can get like 50 unique views MAX before either your link is removed or you get downvoted ridiculously... unless of course you have quality content

But on digg u wont get this 50. On Digg u either get nothing or get to top and kill server.

Does anyone get massive traffic to their site?
Anyone making money by suing reddit?

I get nothing with reddit. I submitted my article with one account, went on a different computer with a different IP using a different OS, etc, and created a new account and upped my article and downed a few others. I got 0 up or down votes. Nothing at all.

tell me if these numbers are good from reddit. i started this autoblog 2 days ago. (see attachment)

i just cant really get anything to convert.

Could you post an example of you how you got those kinds of numbers (what you submitted, how you submitted it, etc)?

sure. this was the link i submitted. (the one that brought the majority of the traffic)

Reddit traffic does come, in the hundreds. But Ive found its mostly traffic that clicks, then clicks back. So if your looking for traffic that will browse your site, from what I have found it wont do much for that.

Upload a picture with a LONG title, a title that is longer then just across the page. You WILL get traffic, quality traffic probably not.

Not too long ago, Digg and Reddit traffic was awesome and sustained.

The result of an afternoon of work to prove the efficacy of "viral marketing" to a client way back in 2007:

Things have certainly changed. There was nowhere near the amount of spam/promotion being done on those sites as there is now. That doesn't mean that we didn't have to get creative back then, but I don't imagine these results would be easily recreated with the small amount of effort we put into it.

I think the total over the course of that month was ~400,000 UV's. The site is still up and gets a few thousand visitors a month with 200-300 visitor bursts on some days that seem to be tied to email chains (given the large amount of Yahoo, Gmail, and Microsoft-related referrers.)

All-in-all the site's value to the client is immeasurable, but most likely had a substantial impact on their 4th quarter 2007 and 1st quarter 2008 sales. Not bad for an afternoon's work.

I agree. Stumbleupon used to be heaps easier to manipulate aswell.

With reddit i am getting ok results. Maybe a few hundred visitors from reddit from one article. Im not really putting anything up amazing. Just have a handful of accounts that i use to up it then leave it be.
