So, uhm. Amazon has denied my associate application.

This is the reply I got:

Since your website does not appear to be finished, we are unable to view your content in its entirety.

We have decided that your site may not present a mutually beneficial business opportunity and because of this, we can not accept your application at this time.

Has anyone ever got this? Im completely oblivious about it to be completely honest, I thought it was a sure-in deal. I can PM the link if interested

I didn't even know Amazon rejected people.

Yeah. Neither did I. Hence getting rejected was quite a shock in all honesty.

That sucks..did you finish the site?

They do reject account, you will need to have a niche site with something like a store, and when you made a sale, your account will be review again. I got rejected thrice, i have to create three different sites. Finally i create a static page website with a comparison table, and enough information on the niche. That is how i got accepted.

I got rejected from the UK program but got accepted for US and Canada.

They seem to have some different rules for UK associates.

They do. I got rejected once, on my first attempt.

They rejected me, so I thought it would be smart to write them back. They were very nice and invited me to try again when I was better prepared.

Based on my experience, UK program is stricter compared to the Amazon US.

Interesting. I don't even remember having a website when I applied, but I've been an affiliate for a long time.

Just read in another thread where you're not supposed to have an affiliate link on sites you don't own. Guess it's time for me to brush up on Amazon links. All of my affiliate sales from way back were from 3rd party sites.

I have the same problem, Amazon.uk sucks, they rejected my application at first, when I contact them they said "the rejection was due to their error" then after one month (December),they rejected my application again and said my content are not unique, look what they said
"I've checked your account, and I can verify that this issue regarding the application issue is currently being looked into by my colleague. As it is not yet possible to provide you with a resolution, we continue to work hard to provide an update and we still expect to be in contact with you on the date provided by my colleague."

I have reviewed your website and it seems that it has been rejected due to our error. I apologise for the inconvenience. We are unable to reinstate the rejected application, however we will be
happy to approve your website if you apply again.

I really want a amazon.uk associate account. Don't know what to do next

Bumping up this old thread.. My application was also refused and I received the same email as the OP. The site contains over 250 products, but it seems pretty clear why they refused it:
-Duplicated product descriptions (I hired a bad freelancer content writer, "fired" him immediately)
-The site is still under construction

Now the reason I applied for the UK program before the site was ready was because I wanted to add the affiliate links as I was building it. However, unlike the Amazon US program, they seem to review your site before you make any sales with the UK one. With Amazon US Affiliate program they only review it after you make your first sale. I've been on accepted for months with them but I haven't made any sales yet as the site is not ready for being marketed yet.

So I hope after my site is going to be ready in a couple of weeks they will accept my application, as the UK market is also big. If not, I'll use the eBay Partner Network for UK links instead as I'm already accepted on their program. I would prefer Amazon though, as I believe it pays more and it would look more consistent to have Amazon US and Amazon UK together.

Anything else to look out for with Amazon UK program? I'm definitely not using any other trademarks and now all the content is unique.

Thats a strange way to get blocked, whats your monthly metrics like? Keep in mind Amazon owns Alexa

Sorry for butting into this old thread, but it seems sort of related to my problem. I have been making a little bit of money with the US Amazon affiliates program, so I decided to apply to other programs in order to make a little more from my non-US visitors.

I was accepted to UK and Canada programs, but rejected by Japan and Brazil. Is this just because my site is in English?

I have seen so many things online saying that it is easy to get accepted to all the different Amazon programs and then use a plugin to serve up the correct country's Amazon links to different visitors. I was not under the impression it was easy to be rejected, especially after already being accepted by US Amazon affiliates and earning some money. Does anyone have any experience with this and know what might be the cause? I'm afraid to apply to the rest of the programs because I don't want to get rejected!
