basically, I mean they arent going to be sway'd into thinking otherwise so what other options you have?

Learn html5, it is very much alive and kicking. Flash is dead, it doesn't work on tablets and phones, and there are no alternatives but html5.

Learn HTML 5.
W3school or lynda or vtc tutorial or youtube tutorial can be helpful in quick learning.
