At the top the load average is high-17,20,15
And in this case I believe it was the index page that was causing the high load(bad example) the 4th process down with the 10.0,9.0,9.0

I think the server load should be 1 or less per cpu on the server(i am not expert but I think that's right). Above that and they get cranky if the process last for a minute or more(and that usually is the problem).

In cpanel on the left make sure you have stats expanded and at the bottom on server status you can click to view the server load and other stuff.

Yeah, I have had the same thing happen to me a few times. I believe if it gets the CPU and RAM get past 2% or 4% you get automatically shut down.

Make sure to look at your resource usage, to keep you from getting shut down.
