So my girlfriend opened an online clothes shop. I am helping her with the promotion of the site (SEO/PPC, etc.) and I think it would be great to do some facebook marketng. Since I don`t know much about it I decided to create a thread here. We already have a small fan page made. I have some thoughts about the FB campaigns.

1) Create 'the most stylish facebook member' contest, invest some $ into promoting it on facebook ads, offer some gift cards to the winners.
2) Use facebook blaster pro to get fans/friends (maybe there is a better software to do the job?)

I would really appreciate if you could share some thoughts and ideas which could help us to promote the store. Thanks a lot.

P.S the store is based in Europe.

Is your girlfriend on twitter? Europe is not really specific, i'm from the netherlands and i have some girl on twitter that keeps retweeting things like "Thisblablafashionshop is giving away one blouse retweet to win" (or whatever) and you see a lot of people retweet that message. So maybe that's something your girlfriend can do besides Facebook.

We live in Lithuania where twitter is not really popular. But almost everybody has a facebook profile here...

Lithuania is quite small, do you only ship in Lithuania?

Yes, it`s small but it`s possible to run a really profitable business here, also we are planning to expand to other markets in the Baltics when we have things rolling nicely here :)

The best advertising in Europe would be magazine ads.

There are kiosks everywhere, and most women buy magazines and clothing mags.

Those would be the places to start.

if clothing is profitable for you good luck!

my step mom opened a clothing store in the USA ... within a year she had a walmart a block away and a year late a target opened in her shoping center ... shes fucked she has like 8 years left on her lease and cant sell shit cause walmart sells the same item for like half of her cost to buy the stock...

I would try using paywithatweet.com to get more exposure for your contest. The Contestants can only enter if they share their contest with their friends. This way you get more exposure for free basically. The Average facebook user has 150 friends so if 5 people do that (Small Number) that could be up to 750 extra people that might participate and that number can grow even bigger.

try to buy facebook likes from people in Lituania. Tell friends about the store, ask them to tell others, to share the link by facebook. This should work.

The contest idea is good, try to do it via an event. PM me your budget, I will suggest you a nice campaign idea.
