So little links get indexed

I made news scraping site and published around 17k articles in the last month. Well, not be myself, but the script . However, so little of them gets indexed. I thought that google would index them all no matter how many of them are.

Here are the stats:
Sitemap last time downloaded on Oct 16
URLs submitted: 16,959
URLs indexed: 6

Hm google search site:name-of-the-site shows more than 4000 indexed pages. I wonder why Webmaster Tools shows only 6 indexed pages?

Ya i have a hard time getting backlinks indexed also
