So I've hit a brick wall

I'm going to get straight to the point.

So I have created me an email list in the weight loss niche and I have currently 105 subscribers. I am offering them VALUABLE content, 3 emails per week. I know a lot about weight loss hence why I chose this one.

I have a PS at the bottom pointing to a landing page in every 2nd followup I send. This landing page I'm promoting is mine, offering them 2 eBooks that will surely change their life. I have set it up as a monthly payment through PayPal with $1 trial - they will get a new eBook per month + more info. I am not spamming these people. Yet no matter how much information I give them it seems like they are only wanting freebies.

When I first try to hard sell to this list the other day, I got about 4 unsubs.

My question is this: Is the Weight Loss Niche too saturated and no point doing it? My open rates are 25-40% on all my followups so I know they like my content. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Do people think EVERYTHING'S a scam in the weight loss industry? So that's why it's hard to sell to them?

And here's the kicker! I have another list in a different niche, with 54 emails, already made $6 and I haven't even been working on this list. I have been building up my weight loss niche so I just left this one yet this one has made me money and the weight loss niche hasn't.

If anyone has advice for me, thank you so much.

OR Am I just been paranoid and need more subs to start making money?

Problem is 100 people on you list that is nothing it's like people who have 10,000 people following them they think they are rich but 1 or 2% even see what they are offering and of that 2% might consider buying. Keep in mind we are in the world of distracted zobies and the zomby gets to see 5 hours of TV adds and 1000 of other ads and they all want their money THEY ARE DISTRACTED! This is a numbers game and the zombies are few you just need bigger numbers. Sorry to be harsh but that is the truth.

I have two points:
1) You say you have a PS at the bottom of the email, have you tried putting this at the top? Your subscribers might not reach the bottom of the email.
2) Have you considered building your subscriber list more before selling a product? 105 seems a bit small to me, especially if you lost 4 of them from a previous email campaign.

I would concentrate on building up your subscriber list, something like if your subscriber sends it on to 10 people they know they'll get $1 off or something.

Thanks, both of you. I think I do need to increase my subscriber list, and yes it totally makes sense that I should put the PS at the top of the email, or even just blend a link there. I haven't tried this but I certainly will.

Build your list first.


The second issue is one you hit on yourself.

There is ZERO trust in that niche.

These people HURT. They want a solution, but everywhere they turn people try to sell miracle products, diets and systems.

So what are you doing differently, to build their trust and hook them in?

ROFL 100 people is nowhere near enough to make an accurate assumption of anything. Grow your list.

I've heard in a lot of places that you should be able to make $1 per month from every subscriber so I thought I should be making at least $100 per month. But atm is 0.

And charliebrooker, I see your point, yet I AM giving them valuable information to build that trust. I'm not selling them miracle products or diet systems. These are simply 2 eBooks that WILL help them change their life. Do you think this is still the same as everyone else?
