I have no experience, no knowledge of creating sites or design, code, programming, etc. All I have is an IDEA with heaps of ideas on what to put on the site to make it a success. I know nothing of the technical work behind the site but I have the innovative vision.

Where do I start and what the hell do I do!?

You find yourself a partner who can do the technical part of it aka a joint venture. But don't just sell your idea away for anyone who says they want to do a JV, because they're technical. Choose wisely, draw up a good set of terms, and talk money. Good Luck!

Thanks bro, appreciate the advice. Would 80/20 be a good split if he does the technical jiffy or am I being too greedy?

Its a membership site with heaps of revenue opps. OH, also I need a content writer to write articles for my audience who is signed up as that is one part of the experience.

Cheers!

go for blogger it not require experience
it is free
after one month apply for adsence and you can earn money
a new blog takes many months to get followers and good traffic
it is for long term

Hi,

To be honest mate the technical side isn't that tricky if you are resourceful. Setup a wordpress blog have a play around with and see what you can do yourself, then outsource the rest to odesk etc ^^

What do you do.
Well start with what you know.
Its all a race that we are trying to win. Everyone likes money.
Take care.

All I can say is don't work with randoms, you'll end up with nothing. They will steal your ideas and develop their own.

Instead, either work with someone you know or learn how to build your own empire.

Do you not know anyone technical that you trust to talk through with your idea?

Membership sites are easy to do without any need for programming but it would depend on exactly what you want to do.

If you actually have some money to put into the project. Find some good local development companies, ask them to sign an NDA and talk through the project with them.

Congratz on your first post! You must have made a record, of not posting anything in the past 7 years.

I would recommend you learn how WordPress works, it's super easy once you get the hang of it. No need for a developer if your site doesn't require to be extremely complex.

Thanks! I don't think that was my first post though. I guess some forums don't count towards your post count or something.

I would like to know more info before we JV

He's website requires custom work. Don't post BS. OP, i think 50/50 is fair. Without a web developer you have nothing except the idea. Good luck and watch out for 'experts'. First ask them to show you similar projects or give them a test project. Again, good luck.

Send me a PM when you get a chance, I am interested in helping out. Maybe we could start a JV down the line if you could provide some more details. Also just some advice, if you choose to work with someone here on the forums, make sure you get a NDA or some sort of documentation signed, because your idea will be stolen if it is a good one.

Good Luck!

As suggested by some people above, try to learn using Wordpress. It easy to use and suits best for most of the needs.

Ideas are plentiful; execution is often what is lacking. Suggest you take the time to come up to speed before seeking partners.

Be very careful who you share your plan with, but if I were you I'd start smaller and work up to this once you have more experience.
