It gets 105,000 local searches per month and i managed to get the domain in the form of keywordhere.org. Now the number one position on google has the domain in the form of key-word-here.co.uk and it has a whopping 68 backlinks showing in yahoo site explorer. the exact match only has 10,100 in google.

I am assuming this is going to be pretty easy to rank for seeing as i have manged to get a keyword rich domain but do you think it will be possible to grab the number one spot, i am in uk and the majority of people searching for this keyword are from the uk too, will the number one spot having a uk domain name shorten my chances of gaining a number one spot with a .org domain and uk hosting?

Another thing i wanted to ask as well is, the number 2 spot on google has 998 backlinks showing with yahoo site explorer and is a pr4 domain, why is the number one spot i explained above beating it, it's backlinks are hardly anything to shout about either and most if not all have no PR atall.

Thanks

EDIT: The domain of the site in position one was registered in 2001, is domain age playing a big factor here as to why it is ranking so well?

first you will need to see the onpage: title, meta tags etc.

second: The number of links dosen't matter, what matter is the quality of links.

The guy that has 500 links, this can be all from 2 sites with pr 0 while the other that has 50 can have this link from 10 domains with high pr.

I recommend that you download Seo spyglass to analyze the backlinks and Market samurai to analyze the On page.

I had a quick scan through the backlinks and they do not seem anything special. I will try those tool now.

Right checked it with seo spyglass and that pulls up 47 backlinks for number one spot for my keyword. It has two links that are PR2 and the rest have no PR or are PR0. Do you think it will be the age of the domain (9 years) being the major factor here as to why it is ranking?

double check to make sure it's got enough "exact" searches - I've been stung on those before.

boost your SERP with link wheel and profile backlink... forum backlinks too!!

it`s will be great help for your SEO

Can someone take a look at this and confirm it looks pretty easy to outrank? Thankyou

damn they are nearly all listed in dmoz, never seen that before lol

Looks doable, with a bit of work. If the keyword looks good (buyers, not just info seekers) then give it a go. You'll never know for sure without trying it. If there are longer-tail versions of the keyword then it's never a bad idea to focus on ranking those first, which will then make it much easier to rank for your main keyword.

someone wanna punch him in the mouth for me?
Haha, i just ignored him, don't let him get to you ;)

For those that are saying it looks dooable but not easy, would you mind explaining why you came to conclusion you did? I am still trying to get my head around all this stuff, especially understanding market samauri results in order to gather wether or not something is work going after and how to judge the competition.

Doable ! But might not be easy... then again with the exact name, and high pr do follow links from themed websites and it might be very easy.

Looks like a great opportunity to get in the top six for sure - Top 3 definitely possible after that.

Don't forget that google keyword tool is the amount of adwords ads displayed with the keyword, it's designed for competition and analysis of pricing for keywords, and does not show the amount of actual human searches of the keyword, it can be way off, I found that out when I got a 44,000 exact searches keyword, made the top three and saw little to no traffic.

I the learned to double check the "keyword" (in the double-quotes) in google insights to see more of a realistic chart of searches, again, no exact numbers, but you can measure it up pretty good.

The most important tool in my keyword research ************** is my head, most of the time I just look at products and affiliate programs, I think up keywords that people might search for, then check them in google insights and use traffic travis to see the competition level. I use Google keyword tool very little since I found it very misleading.

devise a strategy whether you wanna pursue off site or on site seo. If your top 8 competitors are offsite related you can cripple them by doing onsite such as page deep linking Simple.

Because google doesnt like one type of leaders they want diversity.

Its again based on your research and strategy you will have to make a mind . and keep doing it doing it doing it doing . until it gets on top. There is no way in the world when you fail . either that is because you left doing something.

Trying is success giving up is failure.

For more heads up let me know through pm i could give you a personal advise for free. :P
